Hi, i was just wondering because i'm getting really ticked off with BF2142 and its latest patch. Is COD4 worth the $50 when you take Multi-player into account? Regards
cod 4 is only worth $50 for the multiplayer, lots of game modes, lots of players, lots of unlocks for customisation. Its built around mp, single player is just a nice addition.
I think the game is balanced very well. The levelup system makes the game addictive from the start, and doesn't take as long to unlock things as it did in BF2. Additionally, the game scales well; I play with a good framerate on medium-high settings on my LAPTOP.
cod4 is a great mp game. the pace is a lot faster than 2142 imo though.. probably because many of the maps are a lot more confined ( no vehicles in cod4 )
They're very different though. If your a big fan of vehicles then you won't like it. If your like me and like fast paced infantry combat then it's pretty freaking fun.
Depends on what type of game play you like; I prefer BF2142. COD4 is just COD2 style chaos with new textures. BF2142 feels more like a persistant back and forth battle, while COD4 feels more like a quake style shooter.
Yeah, I like a little chaos but there are a couple of maps that are just too small for the number of players server admins try to cram in there. I prefer servers with around 14-20 players in general so that it's not too insane.

i agree, they are totally different. stange thing is, even though 2142 u basically have unlimited nades with support players, cod4 feels much more like a friggin nade fest than 2142 ever did ( exception, titan )
