COD4 question

I just played through the COD4 demo and It was amazing the action was intense and it's very immersive. Anyway, the game would not let me set anything above medium.

The game still looked amazing but is there a reason why it wouldn't? the option was not there. I assume it's because i don't have DX10 but I'm not sure that's the case so anyone care to help me out? My vid card prob cant handle it either way but just for person knowledge

It did set it automatically but when i went to change it the high settings were just not there.

I agree the game runs beautifully and it looks very nice but I just was wondering why i couldn't select the high settings

Mine was set on all high, and I have XP. It must read your PC config and make the choice for you.ZBoater

Dude dont worry Ive seen a normal Geforce 6600 run the game on high with a few effects off at 1024x768 and it ran good, I was really shocked :o.

I think the game is just built very nice for DX9 or 10. A lot of people have said that even on an older machine, the game runs sweetly. Cutos to the designers.TheCyberKnight

If u were offended by the comments I made about yur specs my bad. I didnt mean to offend. Well it is just a demo. Full retail should be optimized so we'll see if u could run the high settings. Would recommend a low res like 1024 x or something. Either way this game is nuts. Think u gonna enjoy it regardless of high or low settings
