I find TF2 loads better because there is nothign quite like it..

CoD4 multiplayer is alright, but it imo has all been done before.. And I found Counter STrike Source, BF2 etc etc far more gratifying.

TF2. So much more diversity in class, level type, teams, friends, strategy, how you want to play, and its an all around fun time.

Generally speaking on COD4 you are either good or bad. On TF2 you can sort of master whichever class you want and play what benefits to your playing style. Personally when I play sniper on TF2 I can go like 50-5 sometimes, but when I play soldier I'll be like 10-30 in that same time period.

They're two very different styles of FPS. TF2 is much more focused on teamwork, combining class skills, etc.

CoD4 is based more on individual skill, large group tactics, etc.

Pick which bests fits your playing style. Personally, I like both pretty much equally.

I played both extensively and I'd have to go with TF2, just because of the game's depth and diversity. I mean in CoD4 everyone's a soldier with a gun basically. In TF2 you have different classes, types of weapons, tactics, abilities, roles, etc. Still, I wouldn't say I like TF2 to the extent that I'd give up CoD4 for TF2 without a second thought, but overall I prefer TF2 by quite a bit.

Completely different sides of the FPS genre. Test both. CoD4 has a demo. TF2 usually has a free weekend.

Two completely different styles of games, even though they are both classed as "FPS's". I'd say TF2, mainly because Valve has so much loving dedication behind the game, they're putting in a top notch effort.

Man oh man.. What are you 12?

So ok we got "medic is gaay"

Game is cartoony..

CoD4 is more intense...

This seems like a very fair, balanced, and intelligent point of view.

TF2 is crrraaaazzzy! So unique and flavorfull. CoD 4 is cool but that series hasn't treaded off the path of normalicy for a while now and Activision has 2 more already planned out in the next years...that IP is going down hill

He doesn't like the role of the medic and he doesn't enjoy the cartoon-y design of TF2.. while he finds COD4 more intense to his liking. Don't be mean now =P

I'm going to say TF2 because CoD4 hasn't done anything that Counter-Strike didn't do better.

I too feel that these are a close match. They're both good (but not great) games and they are indeed quite different from each other. I'd go with COD4 though since it delivers a better overall package, and while TF2 does try to do more and be more different than COD 4 does it doesn't really succeed at driving that home.

The different classes don't have objectives only they can handle like the demopack in well is no longer, I think that's something missing, it's just a glorified kill-fest. the way it is. COD4 is all about that and can't really be faulted for that, but I believe TF2 can.

TF2 has a much better community, the visual style clearly stands out and the game play is top notch.

Two completely different games, I enjoyed both, and I'm still enjoying TF2 immensely so I suggest you pick up both.

TF2 will keep you going for long time and I mean really long time.
