Which game are you the most excited for? Personally I'm looking most forward to Empire: Total War. I own COH and have played the DoW demo. They both seem like pretty decent games, but if Empire is anywhere near as good as Medieval 2 It should take the cake, in my opinion.
Empire. I've been waiting for a real gundpowder Total War since 2006. When Medieval 2 was announced, I exclaimed, "Grrr! Why didn't they announce a true gunpowder Total War?"
empire... they pretty much have the framework for best strategy game ever if they really work on the ai and reduce the lolsiegewarlol complaints...
and since the ai was said to be a priority, and they are encouraging field battles by increasing the importance of non-city tiles, this may be awesome :)
I've never liked the Total War series, so probably Dawn of War 2. Although from the Beta I can tell the multiplayer is gonna be pretty terrible. So I just hope the campaign is good. Starcraft 2 is the strategy game I'm most excited about this year though ^_^
Dawn of War 2 beta was a dissapointment and CoH: ToV is just an expansion, which you cannot really compare to a full game like E:TW. If you were comparing CoH to E:TW I'd instantly go with CoH. But its rather silly of me to say this because no one has even played E:TW yet, which is why all the hype is also equally as silly. Probably CoH:ToV for me though.
Already got my pre-order in for Dow2, don't really care for Coh and I can't be bothered with E:TW when Hearts of Iron 3 is out a couple of months later.
Having pre-ordered Empire about three months ago, I think that takes the top spot. Although, ToV is definitely a first-day buy as well. I wasn't too impressed with DoW2. I love the atmosphere, units, and the lore, but if I wanted to play CoH, I'd play CoH.
Plenty of good RTS games will be released this year. I'll surely get DoW2, CoH: ToV. E: TW is also on my radar but I didn't like Medieval 2 much (Rome was better) - so I'll wait and watch for it.
