College/gaming laptop under 2000

I'm going to college next year, and because of that I need a laptop. I would like one that can play most of the newer releases smoothly, and can handle other basic functions well, preferably with a decent battery life. My budget is about 2000 dollars, and so far the laptop that has stuck out to me most is the ASUS G51vx. Any suggestions or tips would be very helpful.
