Which one WILL you buy? How the hell should I know? Is this a joke?Johnny_Rock
easy m8 im juz asking if which of the 2 is better rts to buy,if u cant help then dont post wuh? ;)
Dang man, this is like an age old question. The answer is simple try the demos out and make a choice.smokeydabear076
dang man im only on dial up so i cant download demos:(
If that's supposed to be 'SHOULD i buy' then that would depend of what sort of RTS game you are looking for.
Command and Conquer 3 is a fast paced, closer quarters, action oriented RTS.
Supreme Commander is a slower paced RTS on a massive scale.

this one helps.. thanks
DO NOT BUY C&C 3, the most bugged online game ever. gogators4life

Well he said he is on Dial-Up, So i doubt he'll be having any online action lol.
But really, its up to you isnt it. Doom-Hellknight summed it up perfectly.

i would recommend you to get C&C 3 - SupCom is good enough but not as good as C&C 3 (IMO)
Agreed. And C&C3 got Kane, something Supreme Commander could never imitate.
Small Review on C&C3 :
The good: Graphics, New Units that interract (grenadiers into APCs etc), Storyline, HD Videos are ok, Action paced
The bad: Maps way too small, Commando totally sucked and fell below all expectations, no fun air units, massive tank spamm on boths sides (NOD relies on tactics my arse), etc etc,
The only time I am having fun with C&C3 is in skirmishes when I get bored sometimes, but it is all the same.
To be honest, do not buy C&C3 unless you are a hardcore fan of the series, I however, after C&C3 lost my apetite for any future C&C3 game, for me, a failure of a game....

Thats funny becasue I personally found Supreme Commander to be faster paced, yes it is slower in the first couple minutes, but once the game gets rolling Supreme Commander is far more action packed and frantic in my opinion.
Rain if your going for single player (ONLY) CNC3 is your best bet (if you don't own Company of Heroes which has a better Single Player then CNC 3) , but if your even considering multiplayer your honestly better off closing your eyes and sticking your hands into a bargain bin and pulling out random junk.
CnC 3 has perhaps the worst online play I have ever seen in my life, the game is overwhelmed by hackers who are flooding the games with new hacks all the time, the game has numerous bugs and tons of exploits which are like the games own built in hacks :? and the balance is abysmal! Worst of all the games online community is the most childish one I've ever see and the online setup as a whole is quite awful.
On the flip side Supreme Commander has at best an ok single player (If your bad at the game it will be decent anyway) and it's multiplayer is fantastic as it sports an online setup and level of balance that rivals Blizzard games.
To sum it up
Single player only = Get COmpany of Heroes, if you have that already get CNC 3
Singplayer and multi = Get Supcom definitely, Company of Heroes is also a good alternative
Multiplayer only = Supreme Commander no question.

I guess the answer is not as simple as I thought it would be. :([QUOTE="pco_rainmaster"][QUOTE="Doom_HellKnight"]If that's supposed to be 'SHOULD i buy' then that would depend of what sort of RTS game you are looking for.

The first 5 or so minutes of supcom are slower paced, but after that the game is MUCH faster paced than CNC3 IMHO.
And DOTA has by far the worst online community possible.
sigh... Matters what kinda RTS ur looking for.
lol, I'm looking at your avatar and its a gta avatar, I assume you love mindless fun. In that case, pick C&C3. Simple formula of mining Tiberium, building units, upgrading, and wiping out the opponent.
Supreme Commander on the other hand, has WAY more micro-managament. The hard part about Supreme Commander is the balance between Energy and Mass (the 2 resources in the game).
Personally, I like C&C3 better. BTW, Supreme Commander doesn't have any blood (you might be dissapointed since your probably a GTA fan).
i'm not sure bout ur compbut supcom is avery demanding game, and cnc3 is def. not.
cnc3 is very buggy though in multiplayer but the campaign is VERY good and is the best campaign in an rts i've seen for years.
supcom has a terrible campaign although isn't that bad of a game in skirmish and multiplayer is annoying. (u have another program calledGPG net to run the multiplayer so u have to launch suppcom everytime u do a multiplayer game)

EA fixed most of the bugs anyways for the C&C3 multiplayer. Even though GPG is a better system, the multiplayer game in C&C3 is freakin awesome.
PS: StarCraft II... best upcoming RTS (followed by World in Conflict)
C&C3 is better IMO.
I played both and Idid not like playing Supreme Commander. C&C3 has a MUCH better story, better graphics and is just more fun to play.
Supreme Commander has more stuff to "fiddle" with, but it looks very blocky to me. I did not like playing it as much as C&C3.
C&C3 is much more polished.

Netherscourge
More polished? In terms of what? If you're talking about its SP then that statement is true, but its MP is definitely extremely unpolished. Although CNC3 has a much better SP component, SC utterly kills it in its MP component.
And brood I think the word you're looking for is Macro-management, not micro. It's either that or you've never played the game before.
Supreme commander demands all the new bells and whistles and could be a pain to run, C&C3 isn't nearly as bad.
C&C is easier, accessible, quick and Kane just owns.
Sup Com is slower, more tactical, better graphics, better online.
Another question is: Can your PC handle Supreme Commander? Especially with its bajillion units on screen at once (okay, so I'm exaggerating, but you get my point).
I've played both SupCom and CNC3 and I say go for CNC3, it's faster-paced and doesn't play like "build a million units and rush" as SupCom plays.
if you want instant action and fun, great visuals with less-than-average sys. requirements, just grab C&C 3
doesnt matter if you missed the first one or tiberian sun
its worth it for the single-player campaigns alone (great story, great FMV sequences great game...)
man i hope an expansion is coming soon
Truthfully, I didn't like Supreme Commander. Everything was ridiculously tiny on my screen (even if zoomed all the way), and while that's pretty irrelevant to the game, it actually bothered me a lot. I guess I can't give you a more specific reason, but I just never really liked it.
Command and Conquer 3 I could probably see myself buying if I had to buy one or the other. However, I really hate the INSTANT SPAWN of the units in that game. Maybe I hadn't gotten the basic concepts down, but I massed a force (spent all my cash) while defending my base effectively. When it was time to roll out, I gathered my forces and destroyed 3 objectives, while wiping out the entire opposing army.
So I figured, with the army out of my way, I'll just go destroy that main objective now! Guess what happened when I got there? The defense turrets weren't really a problem, but what do I see come out of the buildings? MASS UNITS, being spawned instantly after I kill them. What's more is, when you arrive they get ridiculously large reinforcements from the east of the map. So it's basically a game like Starcraft...the one with the most tiberium/minerals wins.
Obviously that was the computer, but I'm talking multiplayer-wise. Overall though, C&C 3 I would definitely recommend. It has great graphics and I did enjoy the gameplay much more than Supreme Commander. In fact, it seemed much more fast paced than Supreme Commander (to me).
Go with C&C 3.
I ended up buying both games, and i must say that i like Supreme Commander more. Its massive game whit great music playing in background and its much harder than C&C3. Much harder. So if you like fast easier RTS go for C&C,but if you like to think a lot and wait 300min(5hours) to build a superweapon, and spend many many time in game (mission takes you about 2 hours averrage) than go for Supreme Commander.

It's still just as buggy. Go to the CNC3 forums and look at the forum posts regarding the new patch. NOD were nerfed extremely badly and there are new exploits, such as the new invincibility exploit.
Supreme Commander really is a great game, I highly reccommend it.
Interesting units and interesting tactics makes me vote SupCom over C&C.
Out of the 2 i would buy supcom. I own both but i get a lot more enjoyment out of supcom than c&c3. Both are excellent games but overall i'd give it to supcom personally.
Try the demos out and see what u like. Just a heads up though. supcom needs a good cpu to run enjoyably
Supreme Commander
Good: Great Graphics, very enjoyable skirmish, decent online (better than C&C3, but sucks compared to real RTS)
Bad: Ridiculus hardware reqs, Single player poor at best,
Ugly: VERY slow based (I HATE rts where things move really slow...), The races are almost EXACTLY the same....
Command & Conquer 3
Good: KANE!, Single player is awesome, skirmish's are decent, Fast paced, patches have fixed most bugs.
Bad: WORST ONLINE EVER!, typically less strategy (can become a tank rush...)
Ugly : EA made it (sad day)
Summary: I currently own and play both and will give you this advice. Since you have dial-up you probably won't be playing online, so go ahead and get C&C3 you will be much happier in the end.
lmao flame your name is appropriate as thats what your post is obviously!
Supreme Commanders hardware requirements were rather harsh on release, but due to patching it runs far better and you could run it fine a a rig you could be today for a few hundred dollars.
Decent online? Other then battle.net it would be laughable to argue any other RTS has a better online service then Supreme Commander and they are still updating it! Making it better and better all the time, I'd say they've surpassed battle.net in many ways even!
I'm really getting sick of all these CnC fanboys saying Supreme Commander is slow, it's really getting quite pathetic now, Supreme Commander isn't the fastest off the start, but once you know the game and your 3 or 4 minutes into a game it picks up the pace radically in comparison to when you didn't know how to play and it becomes pretty much the fastest RTS out right now, not in terms of game length, but in terms of how fast you have to think to maximize your time.
At least it seems you CnC fans have calmed down on your absurd game length remakrs  claiming it takes hours to finish a single game when the average game if you look at Supreme Commanders replay vault is about 15 minutes long.
Supreme Commander doesn't have the most unique factions ever, but they are far more unique then people like you give the game credit for.
Lets look at the 3 main Teir 1 tanks ok
Cybrans is fast and agile, it fires rapidly and deals light damage, it has moderate health and a moderate range and has the special ability to help repair friendly units and assists builders.
Aeons is Slow and clunky, it fires very slowly, but deals heavy damage damage, it has low health and a long range and has the special ability to hover over water.
UEF's is moderate in speed and manuverability, it fires at a steady rate and deals moderate damage damage, it has very high health.
There you have three units that people who have little experience with the game or are fanboys of cnc would tell you were just mirror images of each other which couldn't be further from the truth
