Okay earlier today I was looking at trying to extend the life of my current rig by getting a new video card.  The only one that would be worth the effort is the Visiontek X1950 Pro AGP 8X priced at $300.  But wait! This card requires (suggests?) that I have a 450W PSU and I only have a 250W.  So I'd have to upgrade that as well, so now I'm nearing $375ish.  So I decided to take a trip to my local Fry's and see what I could get for under a $1000 dollars.  Here's what I've got so far:

MSI P965 Neo-F Intel® P965 Express Socket LGA775 ATX Motherboard
Intel® CoreTM 2 Duo E6300 - BX80557E6300 - Box CPU - Socket LGA775
KINGSTON HyperX DDR 2GB PC3200 DUAL MEMORY
WD2500JB 250GB UDMA/100
ATI RADEON X1950 PRO 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express Graphics Card
Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7.1 Surround Sound Card
Raidmax Smilodon Mid Tower Case

All of this comes to $978.95.  Is there anything missing (except the OS)?  Also, I wouldn't mind any comments (positive or negative) on any of the components I've picked out.  This doesn't have to be a top of the line gaming rig.  For reference, this is what I would be replacing:

Pentium 4 2.4Ghz
1 GB RAM
120 GB HD
Sound Blaster Audigy Z 5.1
ATI Radeon X800 Pro 256

Good lord!!  Fry's is such a rip off!!  $279 for that ATI X1950Pro??!?!  New Egg has the very same card for $219!! -http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814195029

Plus you can get the Sapphire for only $162 ($142 after rebate) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102061

Don't buy from that place!!

Ok I repriced everything at NewEgg and I'm at 845.94. Saved $100 and change. Of course I have to add back in shipping which brings it to 879 so I'd save a hundred. Anyway. I'm looking for comments on the components themselves. Not necessarily where to get them.

Your Welcome.  Now why don't you use that $100 you saved and get the 8800GTS (320 meg) instead of the X1950Pro?

Don't get that graphics card it's not the best for the money. Get an 8800gts 320 MB version. (At least if you are investing in a new pc)

Or this, it's a better brand and it's cheaper.

Agreed and its funny because its the same price he was going to pay for that X1950Pro at Fry's before the rebate that comes with the 8800GTS from NewEgg!

Alright, cool, I'm now looking at:

RAIDMAX SMILODON ATX-612WBP Black SECC STEEL ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 500W Power Supply - Retail
Western Digital Caviar SE WD2500JB 250GB 7200 RPM IDE Ultra ATA100 Hard Drive - OEM
EVGA 320-P2-N811-AR GeForce 8800GTS 320MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Video Card - Retail
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7.1 Channels PCI Interface Sound Card - Retail
Kingston ValueRAM 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) System Memory Model KVR400X64C3AK2/2G -Retail
MSI P965 Neo-F LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 Conroe 1.86GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80557E6300 - Retail

All this for $905 plus 33.43 for ground shipping for a total of $939.37.

All the 8800 cards at Fry's were $400+ so I wasn't even considering them.  As for the mobo it looks like that MSI isn't getting very good reviews.  Any recommendations on a mobo?  I don't need anything fancy and don't really want/need SLI, though I'm not opposed to having it available, I would like to keep the mobo under or right around $100.
