I'm not trying to insult your intelligence or anything, but is your power supply switched on?

Check if you put all the wires into their place? Check the vga power cable, power button wires to the m/b, 4-6 pin power to the processor, power cable to m/b. Also check if your rams are sitting properly ( i build a pc few months ago and one of the ram sticks wasnt sitting properly and for 2 hours i was frustrated ). I also suggest running your pc with only the necessary parts to eliminate the problem. Leave only 1 stick of ram remove any dvd drives, leave 1 HD, if your m/b has an embedded vga use that instead etc

yea unfortunately i have tried every single thing u have suggested lol. thats why i am so stumped... i have tried it with just the mobo, 1 stick of ram, and psu, no luck. tried it with all the combinations of hardware. theres like no way to power this thing on. idk what it could be because its happened in both cases, and it worked before the transfer, so somethin i did durring the switch caused it. but it didnt work with a new power supply, or a new mobo... idk... ive tried everything i can think of.

Could be a couple of things: Make sure you consult your MB manual as to what location you need to have your power button wire connected to, as well as your reset wire (wiring from the case). If they're not connected to the right hub on your MB, you won't be able to turn on your PC.

Also be sure that you have connected your PSU correctly to your MB. There will be a 20/24 pin main power supply you need to attach from the PSU to the MB and then there is the smaller 4/8 pin connector you need to make sure is hooked up. A lot of times people tend to forgot to check if they hooked up the smaller 4/8 pin power connector (it is located close to the CPU). No power to the CPU means no starting the computer.

Those are the two main reasons why your computer won't start......

Or it could be something simple like this: I have, in almost every room of my home, a light switch that is connected to an outlet. If that switch is turned off, anything connected in those specific outlets doesn't get power. So, as you see, it could be something simple like that that you have just overlooked.

*edited to add a few words to clarify things*

SInce you said you tried new mobo, ram, psu i'm inclined to say is probably the cpu or the vga ( try new ones of you can find). Hope you will solve the problem ( i was in same position as you). Also despite you know your way around hardware might wanna get a friend to help you ( he is gonna have a more clear head)

one last think to suggest. Get a working pc from one of your friends and start trying your components one by one on that pc

Do you have the correct power connector in the CPU power socket. An 8-pin PCIe power connector will fit into an 8-pin CPU power socket, make sure you didn't use the wrong one.

Is there a possibility that the power button itself is damaged? I mean, have you tried connecting the power button from your old case? Also, this may sound obvious, but have you tried the system in a different plug socket? Could you have blown the fuse in the plug?

yea its not the plug, just tried that. i have a modular psu, so everything is obvious and hooked up correctly. only thing i havent replaced is the CPU, but its hard to imagine how i would have damaged that in the transfer. i was very careful, didnt shock anything....

While I doubt it, it is possible the switches in both the cases have gone bad, really doubt it, LOL. You can test for this though, by shorting out the pins where the power switch plugged in at, just touch the 2 pins with a small screwdriver or something. If it starts then you have a bad switch, if not, you are back where you started, LOL.

Hi If you have a motherboard manual(You can download one if you don't.)

Go through the assembly page by page to make sure you didn't skip

anything. Maybe a jumper fell off when you transfered the board.

Basically, what I am saying is take the time to go through the manual.

Also I would check the control panel plugs where the case wires connect

to the motherboard.
