Company of Heroes Expansion 'Opposing Fronts' revealed!

THQ ANNOUNCES COMPANY OF HEROES: OPPOSING FRONTS

Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts,
the next chapter in the groundbreaking real-time strategy franchise
from the legendary Relic Entertainment, is coming to a PC near you this
Autumn. Powered by an upgraded version of Relic's proprietary Essence
Engine with full Microsoft DirectX 10 support, Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts
features two unique armies with full length campaigns. Players can
fight as the tenacious British 2nd Army during the heroic World War II
liberation of Caen, France, or command the German Panzer Elite as they
struggle to repel the might of Operation Market Garden, the largest
airborne invasion in history. Players can battle online in exciting new
multiplayer modes with these two all-new armies and utilize full
compatibility with the original Company of Heroes for a total of four playable armies.

I cant wait! I'm happy they're adding the British.
Perhaps they're not adding Russia, due to the fact they are focusing on Normandy and France?
A later expansion perhaps.

Great news, I fully expected them to continue with the Dawn of War expansion model. Playing as the Germans in the campaign sounds interesting - is it a first?

I loved Company of Heroes and I'll surely enjoy this one, too - but I'm hoping Relic will explore the Pacific front in the next expansion as the European setting is getting really played out.

Not really. It's been done a lot. Standalone is a huge plus.

Yeah its kind of a bummer that Russia isn't in this one but hey that could be another expansion. Also wouldn't adding Russia basically mean that we would be able to play as 3 different Allied sides and only have Germany on the Axis, a little unfair game wise but pretty much historically accurate.lim_ak

Add Italy or Japan and then it would be fair.
