Company of Heroes patching problems.

I bought and downloaded Company of Heroes from Direct2Drive and I attempted to patch recently but for some reason it won't let me patch at all.

It keeps saying "Failed to find an activated or full version of Company of Heroes, reinstall and try again". I really don't want to reinstall because I'd have to redownload (small HD right now, laptop :/). So does anyone out there know that could be causing this issue?

The patch you are using might be only for the retail version, so either contact Direct2Drive about a patch for their version or check on the Relic forums about this.

My version of COH is from D2D and I have no problem using auto-patching. Are you downloading patches and trying to install or using auto-patching. To use auto-patching you need to login to multiplayer and you'll be prompted to patch it. Also, when you setup your profile you may need to enter your key for COH and Opposing Fronts, if you have that too.

That's how it worked for me. I got the same problem when I downloaded the patches from Xfire, and when I just loaded the game up, the auto worked fine.

A new patch was released today, and I know that both the retail and Steam versions of the game have been having problems with the update. You might need to just give it some time and wait for Relic to sort everything out.
