Company of Heroes (Vanilla) vs. The Witcher
I have decided to create a poll to decide which game to purchase. It is a very tough decision.
The other Option is to wait for Assassins Creed which is being released here in Australia first!

You wanna know what I think. Screw Company of Heroes, get Dawn of War.
For the Emperor!

I agree. :D
[QUOTE="biggest_loser"]I don't really know - I haven't bought an RPG before and the last RTS game that I "acquired" was Generalsartur79
Get an RPG then. Witcher is a good place to start. Seriously though, you have played RPGs before? Like, who has not?
I said I haven't bought an RPG before: I had System Shock 2 as you know, and I have played several RPG demos of course, but I can't really think of any other RPG games that I have bought.

download both the demos and then make a decision...

if you liked both, get both over time. And ss2 is not an RPG.

When does a game become an RPG?
I personally would go with CoH. The Witcher is pewpy! Well actually, I've never played it, but CoH is a lot of fun. I loved making a skirmish on the map Lyon, then I would pick infantry as my special point thingy. Then when you get like 5 points, you can build Howitzer cannons and they have a barrage thing that destroys EVERYTHING. I would make like 5 artys then bomb the crap out of the enemy for the last half hour of the match.
Edit: Don't buy assasins creed
Seriously, once you kill the first target you've seen the whole game. Literally.

Thank you for your contribution. Just a word of advice though: Don't dismiss The Witcher before playing it as I did. It is a cool action game with considerable charm.

Why is it so popular then?
i haven't played comapny of heroes but i have played the intro of the witcher.
if i were in your shoes, i'd pick CoH because RTSs give more enjoyable game time imo.
sure RPGs can consume a lot of hours too, but frankly with a game like the witcher, just how many times do you want to play through as geralt? obvoiusly you can make different decisions if you play again and stuff like that, but i say CoH! and i understand there are only two sides, but REd Alert 2 had two sides and i kid you not i spent so much time on that game, it's pretty funny.
anyway, that's my verse in a poem of suggestions.

Assassin's Creed? I never said it's bad really, it's just repetitive. I enjoyed it on 360, but I only played about halfway through before gettting bored.

I must say my good sir that I am not really after the longest game out there. I have heard Witcher last 70 hours +++ sure you get your money's worth but I am attending one of the best Universities in the galaxy! Will I have time?
The Witcher, duh. Even you said you like it.
Company of Heroes is Dawn of War + a territory mechanic, which means if some resource nods aren't connected with your base they don't generate anything, and minus generals and quirky races. Since you didn't like DoW, don't buy CoH.
And there's always a third option: Jade Empire.

Baranga
The third option is to wait for AC and i only played the demo of DOW. I still happen to like COH.
CoH = 20 dollars. Witcher = 50 dollars. The choice is clear...TryDaBeardON
I live in Australia - games don't come cheap here. Some retailers have COH pricing at $50 (au)

Does Australia dare defy the capitalist principles of supply and demand? Try online retailers, d2d or steam.

I don't have a credit card..
I think I saw COH for $30 - if that is the case i will be buying it shortly. I still have another game to finish though..
You really suck at making decisions!

Vampire Bloodlines? Runs on the source engine.
If ever you can't remember the exact name just type a keyword like Vampire into the search thing on gamespot. Its really useful.
How dare can you compare 2 games that are completely different from each other?
I couldn't get what you mean, I think you should start to work out the game-styles.

I am not comparing them my good sir. I think that is the mistake that I have made with this post.
I am not asking *which is better* rather *which should I buy*
I have heard so much about that game? Is the saber combat in real time like Jedi Knight?biggest_loser
Bloody hell, you have not played Kotor?????
Play. It.
It's a turnbased game. So no, no real time lightsabre combat. The combat is fantastic imo, but some would disagree. It's like Fallout combat, either you love it or you hate it.
If I don't have a demo of a game the chances are not that great that I will get to play it.
I could probably get it cheap or something.

One question. Are you a fan of Star Wars? If yes, run and buy it now. If not, buy it anyway. Get it cheap or whatever, there is a reason people went bananas over the Kotor 3 rumour. It's a fantastic game with a great story.
