I will attempt to help.

1) your card might be doing what they call "saving energy" meaning, it is doing a smart thing, in dropping the speed of your CPU in order to save battery life.  But what it does, is when you go to do something thats CPU intensive, it should increase the speed back to 1ghz.

2) for your ethernet port, im guessing its wired (sorry, didn't quite understand what your asking) but if its giving you problems with the connection, I would check to see if its your LAN cable (Cat5 Ethernet cable).

Hope this helps.

1) I believe Intel calls it Speedstep. Do you have a Intel cpu?

lol yeah thats the name.  If it is, then he has it, but AMD has something similer anyway, so both in the end would end up with the same thing.

Yeah my computer does that. Like when i'm on the internet my cpu speed is at 1ghz but when im gaming it goes up to 2.4ghz. You can test it by downloading CPU-Z. Have it run the look at the cpu speed. Then open a whole bunch of programs and it should go up.
