One thing that has always bugged me is how there is much more complaining about the new games released in the last 4-5 years (not just on PC) as being worse than their predecessors . Yes I definitely agree that there are many games that haven't satisfied me, especially in the past year, however no one seems to point out flaws in games such as Deus Ex, Baldurs Gate 2, Diablo, even Counter Strike. It seems once a game becomes "classic", people do not wish to point out any criticism that can make the game better in the longrun. Is it because they were just that much better, or are people just nostalgic and not willing to praise the work that has been put into games these days? I realize this has a lot to do with games not being 'PC centric' anymore and multiplatform has stripped many features, but are there other reasons?

people will always complain, about games, sports, relationships, politics, the law, life in general. That's what people do, they are NEVER satisfied. Sometimes they are right and sometimes they are just whining. So I say, if they don't like the game, then let them become a programmer and design their own damn game so it can be as perfect as they want it to be, even if others will also complain.

PS. jeez, why does gamespot has such horrible coding on these forums? all the words keep sticking together and still no fix for this.

Multiplatforming of games is part of the problem, but it is also casual gaming that has infected the industry. Most mainstream developers and publishers believe (wrongly) that gamers are more casual these days and want more casual features. Casual gaming has a place in the games industry, but the industry has blurred the lines. The stench of casual gaming is on almost everything these days. Core gamers who want challenge and games that empower players with lots of choices are being tossed aside these days.

Well. I believe the problem is not in the games or even the developers, the problem is with the current generations mindset. Lets face it, we complain about anything and everything.
