Is there a difference between Cheap or Brand name like there is in HDMI? I was planning on getting the official Nintendo ones but Gamestop is out of stock and everywhere else is charging (what seems like) an obscene amount.

There is no difference between HDMI cables. A $5 dollar cable will produce the same image, colours, etc, as a $200 cable.

He's asking if component is like that though, he already knows that.

Oh, OK, my mistake.

To answer your question TC, get the cheap ones, they should work.

Component cables are analog and there is a difference between the cheap and expensive kind. Will you notice, is the question. Since you'll only be outputting 480p at the most from the Wii, you probably won't notice too much difference from the cheap to expensive cables.
