My computer has been crashing (made 2 posts about this earlier). Its like the power cord has been pulled. Ihave had the power to the card coming through other things.More specificaly a bunch of 4 pin molex connectors connected togetherto a6 pin adapter then to the card. Like this:

: : : : :____________
: : : : :____________ CARD

Key

: 4 pin molex ____________ 6 pin Adapter

: ____________

I know I amartistic, actually pretty poor diagram.

AnywayI found two connectors stowed in the back marked PCI-E1 and PCI-E2. So what did I decide to do? Use those instead of my retarded previous setup. It hasn't crashed yet, but might this help. If I dont fix this I will go mad.

Thanks in advance.

So you were using a 4-pin molex to 6-pin PEG adapter, and now you're using the 6-pin connector that came with your power supply? That should certainly help matters out a fair bit.

What graphics card and power supply are you using?

Yeah that diagram got a little messed up when i hit post anyway. Yes exactly. I am using an OCZ 700 WATT and new SLI'd 8800 GT's. I hope their not faulty, but I dont think thats the case do to the waythe crash happenshappens. Its exactly what you would see if your card was overheating. Its not though, it happened with the case open, a fan blowing inside the case, and with the fans tuned to 100% using rivatuner.

The OCZ GameXStream and StealthXStream suffer from quite a bit of ripple under heavy load - even so, I dont think even SLI 8800GT cards honestly contitute a dangerous load for them, even considering the ripple problem.

Running molex-PEG adapters has been known to cause problems, so I think it's safe to say that your problems should be gone if you're using the proper connector.

Thank you for your help I am sure it will help. I will also note the other thing you said, thats a possibility. It also could be some other unimaginable problem. A new powersupply will most likely help if the problem persists. Once again thank you.

I'd look to other components first - maybe something's overheating, or you could even have a connector slightly loose.

Thats also true, if problems persist I will do a physical examination of the computer. Maybe its something I overlooked.
