You say that like it's a bad thing. I think it's good for PC gaming, honestly. Sure there'll be more "casual" games, but the "hardcore" niche will grow too. It's better for everybody.
Plus PC has the advantage of truly timeless games, IMO. (Examples: Diablo II, CounterStrike, Starcraft, etc)
Is computer gaming getting bigger and bigger as technology wears on? Are more and more people playing on games much more than they used to? The number is increasing.......dramatically!Left4death2
well that's good- it's the right way not stupid consoles

Gaming used to be thought as nothing else but nerdy things to kill time on. Gaming has become much more cinematic over the years and the storylines surpass that of your everyday theater movie. It's more a hobby now than it ever was.
The problem with PC gaming IS the vast amount of upgrades. In three years the latest piece of technology will be on sale on ebay for a fraction of its original price. I think we just hit a Hardware "Boom" with the new graphics cards and processors coming out by the dozens, it's going to be hard to keep up:P. But then again, that is just my $0.02.pr4n4y
I agree, it does get expensive. But, in the end we can upgrade to those new technologies. That, my friend, I will gladly pay to be able to build my gaming system the way I want to and not have to wait like10 yrs for the new XB9000 for updated graphics. Which, in the end, after development fall behind because they come out with anew generation of cards shortly before the console release. Also, once you geta good system built, all you really have to do is buy a new graphics card(most of the times it doesn't even have to be the latest and greatest either) every like 2 yrs. Which, if you shop around, will be half the price of a new console.

That's true, plus we still haven't reached the point where the entire age spectrum plays games. All the kids now have computers (and/or consoles) and virtually each one of them plays games. And most people who have been playing games as a hobby already aren't going to stop altogether only because they got older and have more responsibilities. In my opinion, it's going to be at least another, say, 30 years until the overall gaming populace will stop growing.
