I truly was. I didnt even know they were gone until today ROFL. I was a subscriber from 2004-Jan 2006. I quit because I could get all the latest info online for free. BUT they were the greatest gaming magazine EVER.

Two of the best PC gaming magazines were shut down without even a farewell issue or any kind of message indicating they are shutting down. Now all we are left with is a cheesy fluff piece here in the states.

If anyone is interested there are is a good PC gaming magazine coming out of England. Its called Total PC Gaming.

No. PC Gamer has done a much better job. And thats US-wise.

The one thing I will never forget is how Jeff (last owner) put his daughter in the editor's section...

I cant even describe it. Just no, no, no. If I wanted a teen's review on a game, I could do it myself. I buy things for them to be professional.

They got the editor's daughter to review The Sims 3 in the last issue of Games for Windows (I guess their last issue).

CGW was covering online gaming well before 1993.

Ya, I still had a subscription when they went under. I liked Jeff Green, but the humor in the magazine was getting really bad. I still liked them better than PC Gamer though. I'll probably just use the internet from now on. Not too many good magazines out there. I think MMA magazines are the most interesting now.

I'm not too familiar with all the other PC gaming magazines i probably only bought 1 issue of PC Gamer.......but what I liked the most about Computer Gaming World were the hardware reviews in the back. They always compared LCDs, computer cases, pre-built pcs and more.
