computer keeps shutting off

ok so i just bought a new 500w psu and a Radeon x1950 pro AGP card and installed it in my computer. after installing all the new drivers i attempted to run a game (cod2) when my computer shut itself off. i tried again with the same result. anything with more than 2D graphics turns my computer off. some1 please help

heat problem your mobo has built in sensors so it shuts off when its hot

500 watt psw l go with at least 580 for a card like that

yeah sounds like a heat prob, download SpeedFan to check your temps.

Or a video card problem. Does the poster have another video card to see if the problem is P.S.U. or VGA?

I'd personally like to know more information about the PSU, including the make and model. I feel as if the problem is linked to the PSU, since it's shutting off on GPU intense programs that require a significant amount of power from the GPU only to trigger a full shut-down. At this point, it can be anything--but I'm betting it's the PSU.

The problem is likely the PSU, or the VGA. Its possible that the fan may have died when playing cod2. Or the power supply has warn out, and can't provide enough juice. Check and open your case and see if your video card's fan is spinning.
