I've had my computer for about 4 and a half years now. While i realise i cannot handle the latest games I could always play games like warcraft and WoW without any trouble. But recently my computer has been getting slower and slower. And I can barely open more than 5 tabs in chrome without it lagging like crazy. I know its time to get a new computer, but at the same time I'm due for a laptop. So can someone tell me what kind of laptops can handle the latest games on the market and the related specs. Or whether I should simply get a okay sorta laptop and get a really good PC

The likes of Alienware do good high power laptops, but really I'd say get an average laptop and a decent gaming PC. The PC will be upgradeable and half the cost (or at least substantially cheaper) of the equivalent gaming laptop.

Avoid Alienware at all costs. You can get better laptops at a much lower price.

best thing u can do if u want to extend the life of the current PC while u save for a better one would be to do a reformat and resintall ur OS. nothign else makes a PC feel like new! also recommend opening it up and getting a air compressor or a can of air to spring clean it. clogged fans lead to higher temps which lead to slower pc.

A homebuilt desktop can give you years of gaming on higher settings, because you can exchange many parts while you got it. On a laptop thats not possible, and most laptops are serious week when compared to simular priced desktops and you *cant upgrade them. (Well it also depends on if you got screen and mouse/keyboard.) *I know some may say that it's possible on a few laptops, yes some you can upgrade but the price of an upgrade is near the price of a whole new laptop and thus it's not worth an upgrade, and you'll have to be an expert to do it byyourself, it'll woid anykind of warranty you got on it.

That's the best possible option if you want to play the latest games, but also need a laptop for some occasions. You will probably end up saving A LOT of money too, assuming you want to build a desktop that can outperform the best possible gaming laptops in existence.

If you don't want to reinstall your OS, try this.

Go to Start > Run > type msconfig > hit Enter

Go to "Startup" Tab

Uncheck everying you don't want to turn on. You can always turn it back on by just clicking the program. It won't be off forver.

Be careful what you uncheck, like antivirus.

My bro just bought a Dell Inspiron 15. It has an ATI Radeon Mobility 4330 graphic card, which can play most games at high (except Crysis ofcourse :P). I tried both AC and CoD 4 today, and both play and look great. It was around 900 dollars I think.

Build your own through newegg and if you don't know how to build by hand but know the tech to pick the right ones then look at Cyberpowerpc.com great sites.

I've owned 3 laptops total. 1 my parents got me, and 2 I bought myself. Each time I got ready to get a new one, I've done extensive research and compared the best models between multiple brands. With that said, every time I got a new laptop I always came back to Dell. They usually have the latest and greatest GPUs (especially now since that they own Alienware), and they don't come loaded with unnecessary software that you're actually paying for in the end. Asus also seems to be getting a lot of nods, so I'm sure they're worth checking out as well. What I like to do is go to all of the company websites and custom build laptops with similar specs and see which one gives the best deal.

Whichever laptop you do decide to go with, make sure you take a look at how much you're paying for RAM. Companies usually overcharge their memory, and in a lot of cases it's cheaper to buy the laptop with the lowest amount of RAM possible and buy the upgrade separately from somewhere else. Also keep an eye out on Notebookreview.com's coupon section because I once got $800 off the $3200 price tag of a Dell XPS laptop.

If you decide to game on the Inspiron, be sure to turn game resolution to 1280 * XXX. It improves fps a lot.

Also, your laptop should last you 3 years max. You can play a lot of multi-plat games that you might have missed.

Check the one I mentioned. HP sucks, period. My sis has one and it already shows problems despite being less than a year old. They are made very cheap, so you get what you pay for - cheap.

Trust us when we say this, and I've had personal experience with an HP, and it lasted about 2 yrs before it died. Sure it was cheap, but it still sucked. And I couldn't play almost anything.
