*bump* If it helps, I have an Antec 550w True something or other that's almost 2 years old, haven't added anything to it since the time I installed the PSU, it just suddenly started doing this about a month ago.crucifineDid you change operating systems recently? Does the power button on the front work at all?

Does the power button on the front work at all? Nope...I don't know what it is. Sometimes, when I start it up like this, it doesn't load all the programs it normally loads, either.

Sometimes, when I start it up like this, it doesn't load all the programs it normally loads, either. hmm, sounds like the case switches are going bad or the switches aren't plugged into the mobo headers properly. If you don't want to buy a new computer yet I'd try getting a new case and PSU. A nice fresh install might help also. This computer sounds abit long in the tooth so I'd say change the bios' battery too. Another issue could be the mobo circuitry got crossed and burned out in the switch header area. In that case you would have to replace the entire Mobo. I'd say start by investing in a good case and use your old hardware. When it comes time to upgrade you'll already have the new case!

Are you serious....dont over analyze the situtation...I have seen this problem before...more than likely its the Power Supply...I would suggest contacting Antec, RMAing the power supply and see where that gets you...More than likely its just the power supply....

I basically said the same thing with extra stuff to help him clean up his system. When systems start getting old they can start acting funny for a number of reasons.

The problems are slightly ambiguous and I've had these same issues improperly wiring headers. I've been building CPU for a while now and I know things tend to be not so cut and dry. I see what your saying though. I offered a tune up while you offered one solution. If you think it's the power supply dude. Then yeah, maybe he should start their. It's cheaper anyway.

Im not a paid professional but I also have great experience with building computers and I have seen this occur more than once with this exact PSU...thats the only reason I strongly believe it is the PSU...
