Computer shutting down?

Hasn't done this before, only thing I've done to this comp lately is fix a windows error by using a windows xp disk(wasnt mine, was a mates that he dled), which I doubt was that because all I did was boot off it then it was fixed? :/ Any ideas?

If you had a friend on your computer, then ask him. This is a simple hack a friend can put on your computer and disguise it as any icon, or just set it to do so at random intervals. It could also be a major system malfunction lol

So this just happens randomly? Never seen it before. Was me on the PC & I cbf re-installing windows.

My guess is this, part of your system 32(your operating system)has either been corrupted from your harddrive being turned off wrong, or a virus has corrupted it. I would try repairing windows with the windows installation disk.

After you do that, i would run a virus scan before startup because if it is a virus and it has infected your os, then that is really the only way to delete it.

Then after that if it wasnt a virus, do a boot sector check.

Yeah, my 14 year old son does this crap at his mothers house. He likes to scare the hell out of her for some reason. Fake virus and stuff.
