I'm trying to get online with my new Vista PC but I'm not entirely sure why it won't work. I plug it into my router and it does connect to my network but it doesn't reach the Internet. However my XP machine, 360, and PS3 has no problems. Can anyone help? I heard you might have to open ports or something, is that true?

I installed the drivers from the CD that came with it. It shouldn't be a driver problem.

In the TCP/IP settings is it set at "automatically obtain ip". I had similar problems when i first bought a router because i have Dynamic DSL.

It may depend on your router, because your running vista an upgrade may be necessary, call your routers customer service and talk to a technician.

I was pretty much in the same situation as you and I got NOWHERE, untill I talked to a technician, and they got me online in about 20 minutes.

Probably needed updated firmware :? Also if you have a static IP you might need to set it manually.

It's driver prob. Google for your Ethernet card. It might need new drivers OR it might not be supported by vista. I wanted to try vista and had to buy a PCI ethernet card, cuz my mobo' built-in ethernet device wasn't supported in Windows Vissssszzzzssshht

If my router is the one that's not working then I will have ot get a new one since this one from Verizon doesn't have support to upgrade. I'll try the other stuff. Keep the suggestions coming.

Does anyone know of a wireless adapter, preferably USB, with 64 bit support?
