i have been wanting this case for about 9 months now. i am looking to build by the end of the year. about a month ago they newegg had this case for only 199 after rebates. now i think its like 230 after rebates. my question is that, will i ever see a price drop on this case?? so my plan is just to buy it when i see it at 199 again, and just keep it till i build. would this be a wise choice?the stacker 830 is the only case i want.

Probably not with CoolerMaster cases so if you really want it then buy one to hang on to whenyou see it on offer. Having said that they have just released the Cosmos case which is rather nice and might push the 830 down in price slightly.

has anyone seen a cosmos in person? they look pretty cool, but the one thing i like about the stacker 830 series, is that they a ton of open spots for 120mm fans.

Not as yet no i haven't. Don't forget though that lots of fans = more noise and you can actually make cooling worse if you don't balance the air flow within a case.

For the same price I would consider the Tagan Black Pearl.

The cooler master 830 has the best cooling power if you set the fans correctly, theres a picture on xtremesystems.org can't fidn it though, but listen to this I have the case and I didn't get to 3.8 ghz on my quad without the right fan setup

Front: intake 120x2

Top 120x1 exhaust

Rear 120x1 exhaust

Side panel: The fans closest to the front of the case are intake fans 2x120

Side panel: the 120mm fans near the video card and cpu are exhaust either 2x120 or 1x120 (may have to take the bracket on the top left for large cpu hsf.

NOTE (if you are using a blower style hsf on your cpu (Example intel hsf) set the fan nearest the cpu on the side panel to be in intake instead of an exhaust, set it as an exhaust if you are using a tower style heatsink. If you are using a large hsf then you must take the bracket out for the fan (thermalright ultra 120 xtreme or tuniq tower 120)
