seems like my fans are working overtime (i believe there are 5, including the video card)  how could i keep my tower cooler than it currently is from the fans running?

Not sure what your question is here - are you saying you want to keep your case cooler so your fans don't have to work as hard? Or are you looking to make things cooler regardless of how hard the fans have to work?

Well it's tough mate because the P4 was infamous for making PCs microwave ovens.
