So I'm going to be travelling to Thailand in a couple of weeks for a few months and I'm going to be bringing my Acer Aspire V3-771G laptop with me, but I am worried that it may overheat in the hot temperatures, especially if it is kept on a flat surface all of the time. To combat this I am thinking of getting a cooling mat for it but there are so many different makes available and not all of them look like they will fit a 17.3" laptop so I was wondering if anyone here might have any recommendations?

This looks like the best one I've found so far as it's compact, has internal fans and is easy to bring travelling:

Or there's this one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/LB1-Performance-Adjustable-Angle-V3-771G-9809-17-3-Inch/dp/B00IKTSTNI/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1454192616&sr=1-1&keywords=Acer+Aspire+V3-771g+cooling+pad which has an 18 month warranty on it.

@Comic_Capers: Try searching Zalman coolers. Btw it's not gonna make a big difference, maybe a few degrees at most.

I'll have a look at them and to be honest a few degrees cooler is better than having it overheat and crash. This happened a lot when I took it on holiday with me a few weeks ago and I was playing with it on a flat surface. I also would like something to be able to sit it on my lap as it gets very hot, especially when playing games with no disc.

@Comic_Capers: Highly recommend Thermaltake as a laptop cooler. I've had a few gaming laptops. All of them would overheat and shutdown, especially when I used them on my lap or tables with table clothes. Those surfaces block the fans on the bottom and as a result the laptops would overheat. Maybe just my luck, but ever since I started using laptop coolers - no heat issues, ever.

I have this one on my son's laptop: http://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Inches-Massive-Notebook-CL-N003-PL14BL-/dp/B00J0O05WA/ref=sr_1_12?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1454288927&sr=1-12&keywords=laptop+cooler&refinements=p_85%3A2470955011%2Cp_72%3A1248879011%2Cp_n_feature_keywords_browse-bin%3A4018938011

Good luck!
