What do you need your power supply for? I'd go with Corsair as it's a more recognized brand to me.

^ bible to psu purchase. Unless you OC with quadcore/sli, you dont even need it in that power range. 50 watt is like asking for 10 more horsepower on a crappier car with crappier service, I heard Corsair has a good service :). Bow down to Corsair and Pcnp for psu.

That extra 50W doesn't really mean anything. As I said go with the better brand. Corsair's PSU also has a maximum of 800W anyway.

Thank You for the link. I have always installed a beefy supply in all my builds. But according to this information, some savings can be had when installing a less powerful PSU.

Yes, you read correctly. A powerful PSU have like 1000w maximum usage, but virtually all computers dont reach that and if so is on MAXimum load. Most of the time we idle at 150w+(depends on computer) and the sweet spot of psu is 50-60%, so I say 400-500w psu(more if you oc sli/quad) would be a good powersaving unit any less you may run the risk of shutting down due to spike. I recommend only 80% efficiency, because anything else is wasted heat and have shorter life psu.

A core i7 and a decent graphics card; say a 260 gtx or 4890 will last you a couple of years or more. So for the time being you could save some money instead of buying a DX11. While these cards will bring a better performance DX11 isn't a great improvement; it's nothing to fret over certaintly. You could wait for the cards to see a price drop in the high end GPUs though.

It's entirely up to you though.
