I currently have the standard K70 and I'm happy with it overall, but I feel let down. I'm getting a refund for it because within 6 months I had a dead LED (currently it's 2) which isn't a huge deal, but when you consider what I paid and what is expected, it's just not acceptable.

So, I figured with the new keyboards coming out I would take the refund and upgrade to one of these two. Anyone have experience with both? The K70 was my first mechanical keyboard so I'm not sure of build quality of Razer's keyboards.

That's why you don't buy a 100$ "gaming" keyboard, the quality of your K70 is not much higher than my K30.

If you're going to get a mechanical keyboard try Thermaltake Poseidon Z (70$) or ZX (65$)

@PredatorRules Thanks for your input, but not what I was asking for.

I'm just pointing out that those extra 100$ are fo multi light LED, that's it - if that's how you roll - sure why not, but at least pay for more features like the ones on the Logitech G910 at the same price.

You can pre order it, I'd also suggest you to get Mad Catz STRIKE 7 - it's very cool but for a 300$ - might want to buy a brand new GPU with that kind of money.

I am getting the chroma setup, I already have the mouse. It should arrive today actually. The keyboard I am just waiting to get in stock.

As far as I can tell, only the Chroma ships with an SDK that game developers can actually use with the keyboard/mouse setup. For instance if base is being attacked in an RTS they keyboard could flash yellow, or orange, and if you are being shot in an FPS it could flash red.

My current keyboard is an older cheaper one, and this would be my first gaming keyboard, and first with mechanical switches.

The G910 is kind of cool, but I think the reason I like the K70 so much, and to a lesser extent the Blackwidow, is because they give me the backlighting I need but don't look to gimmicky and "gaming" oriented. I definitely wish they were cheaper, but at least the K70 is made of metal, includes a wrist wrest and has a really sleek design. Trust me though, my wife wasn't happy to hear how much I spent on the keyboard either. It's something I use a lot though and I don't mind spending a little extra to get what I want.

That said, no way am I spending $300 on one lol.

Yeah I like Corsair products as well, they have very elegant style.
