I sent a ticket to Corsair and told them my son broke his headphones in the same spot where everyone online seems to break theirs. He was carefull with them and he has been using my Astro A40's for 6 months now and they are fine. I got this reply.

I apologize for the late reply. Unfortunately the parts are not available separately. In this case I'm afraid you have to buy the whole headset replacement.
Thank you.

I then replied back.

They replied again.

These were bought in December of 2012. I have seen RMA's issued for this same problem . They have a 2 year warranty on them. I said my son broke them because he was taking them off his head when they cracked. I guess they are nitpicking my words I used. If you go to the Corsair forums there are lots of people saying their headsets broke. They have no problem issuing RMA's for them.

Was I wrong to say my son broke them, when in fact they did break while he was using them? Obviously they wouldnt break if they never got used. If someone says they were putting the headphones on and the headphones broke would that be implying that they broke them? I ask the second question because these people stating they broke their headphones are getting RMA's issued to them.

Still love their power supplies and memory just a little upset.

Why not say it got broken under normal/careful use?
