The Source engine is really not a demanding engine, alot of old rigs can manage to run it great, so that card can easily max CS:Source. I did when I had the 7600 GT before it went kapoot, so I can't imagine you won't with the much powerful 7900 gs.

My 7600GT can run it maxed out so your card shouldnt have a problem. The game is cpu bound with the 3500+ I have which kinda sucks.

My 7600 GS (Not GT) can run it pretty much maxed out (1600 res, all the advanced options at max exept the antiscroptic and antialiasing stuff, with bloom)

Yeah the game will run great on almost anything.... BUT, if you want the best graphics it would be best to have an ATI card simply because they can do anti-aliasing and bloom/hdr at the same time.

Even though I get better fps with my Nvidia card it still kind of bothers me that I cant use bloom or hdr with anti-aliasing.

Incorrect statement, source engine is sm 2.0, you can have hdr + AA with any nvidia series line.

Incorrect statement, source engine is sm 2.0, you can have hdr + AA with any nvidia series line.

Really? Then why can't I do that with my 6600GT?

Totally Wrong Mister.

SM2.0 never had HDR, and all nvidia pre 8 series cards cannnot do HDR + AA.

Not all ATI cards, only ATI Radeon X1K series. But for Oblivion it didn't matter because no one wanted to do both HDR and AA at the same time unless they had two x1950xtx's.

CS: source doesnt use true HDR, it uses valve's implementation of bloom that imitates HDR. Thus any SM 2.0 card can run it along with anti-aliasing.
