The Q6600 is a great CPU that can be overclocked like a motherfu.^H^H^H^H. Of course it can play any modern games. I'd be more worried about the size of the HDD you mention.

it will also play games for another couple of years depending on how far you overclock it!

Just noticed you've asked for a list of games that work with the Q6600. Well I can confirm all of these work perfectly, on the following system; Q6600 @ 3.0GHz EVGA GTX 260 Core 216 Superclocked 4GB 800 MHz DDR2 RAM 2x Samsung 1TB Spinpoint HDD ... blah blah blah Monitor is a 24" Dell 2408WFP Ultra Sharp. If the game allows it I'm playing all games at the monitors native resolution of 1920x1200. Like I said the Q6600 is great.

Good , In this way I can calm down :D , But I don't tend to overclocking Processor because the last time I did , the whole computer got burned:roll:

So could you confirm that all the mentioned games will work with that processor without overclocking ??!

and don't worry about the HDD , in our countries HDD are cheap:)

Thank you my friend

and thank you for your contribution

I don't have a single game that doesn't work with the Q6600. What's hard to understand here? The Q6600 is a really fast processor. It can run anything. The only issues you will find will be OS related not CPU.

^ Listen to these people. It's a great cpu, it can be overclocked like crazy and it's fairly cheap. I'm trying to see if i can budget it when building my computer this month or so.

... I think you'll need a new GPU before you need a new CPU to do this with current games.

Raise the resolution all you want. That puts more stress on the GPU than the CPU. When it comes to gaming, GPU is where it is at. If you want to do media encoding/decoding or if you write/run scientific programs then the CPU becomes more important. I haven't had much issues with gaming on my e6400 but since my compile times could always be faster so I plan on getting a Q6600 and OCing it to ~3.0. The Q9xxx just don't have the overclockability value and the i7's new chipset will run you a lot of money for a complete system.

my rig specs is in my sig, it`s quite the same as yours except the gpu is GTX+.

the q6600 can run anything now great, and for about 2 more years with OC, there`s nothing u can`t run.

one more thing, ur hard disk is too small, i have a 640GB , 250GB of them r games.

I will play all modern games and games for 2, 3 and 4 years to come. The only thing you will have to upgrade in that time will be to a better Graphics card maybe for directX11 to come but your card their will play games for some time.

GTAIV works really well much better than an dual and Crysis/far cry again better than any dual

In my opinion it is the best CPU to get for the price. There is absolutely nothing it can't handle and if anything it is getting better and better with time as more applications and games utilise the power of the quads. see above^

you dont have to reinstall something after an overclock for it to feel the benefits...
