Yes, yes, yes. It's one of my favourite games of all time, even though I'm not playing it so much nowadays (playing more TF2). However, be careful because it's kinda difficult to get in to. Not as hard as CS 1.6 though. I've had no problems with vista, and it's still one of the most played online games around.
Yes, it's still worth it. There isn't gonna be another CS until at least a couple of years. My cousin has it and it works well in Vista. Well at first it was all glitchy, but then we went to Windows Update and found a driver for his graphics card there. Since then, it's great. A lot of people still play it. Heck, a lot of people still play CS 1.6, the old version which is over 5 years old, so of course people will be Source for a long time.
