Why choose one over the other? There is a two-pack with both games in it.Ein-7919
I was thinking about that at first, but from what I heard almost everyone who plays the game just plays one and not the other. I would seem like a waste to me to buy two games and basically just play one of them.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that if you buy just one of them, it should come with a free trial for the other. Then all you have to do is make sure you setup the free trial on the same account that you just set up for the version that you purchased, and you're done. Just make sure that you put both games on the same account, so that you can reap the benefits of having both games. (ie. if you are playing CoH and have CoV on your account, then you have access to bases). The good thing about this is that it's the same price per month for both as it is just for one.
I would definitely get both anyway, because there will be a lot that you are missing if you only get one. And from my experience, lots of people are actively playing both, not just one or the other. Â
The only thing is that I would try to find a newer copy of CoH that was printed and released after CoV came out, or just pickup CoV from the get go to make sure it will have the free trial for CoH with it.
Â
At this point just buy both since you pay a flat fee to play both no matter the cause. Just play both over time and see what you enjoy most...I had a lot of fun with CoH until the PVP patches screwed it all up. CoV seems to be pretty much the same with a few small changes from the impression I got.
Also get the new DVD out...it's worth it for the simple fact of not having to download every content patch from the older versions in the boxed release out now.Â
[QUOTE="GSZX"]Specify next time? To most people, CoH = Company of Heroes.

Generally speaking, when paired together with CoV, CoH will most likely be associated with City of Heroes...especially when the poster is referring to MMOs
I meant in the title. I was thinking he was talking about Company of Heroes, and then I click and I just see that it's about City of Heroes. So basically what your saying is that if I were to buy both CoV and CoH (in the good vs evil pack) I would get 60 days of the game for free?Grease_Bits
No, you would get 30-days because it's one account. Even if you bought them separately you would still only get 30-days on your trial because it's the account that gets the trial, not the game.
CoH hands down that game is SO FUN and if ur going to get a mmorpg HELLO WoW just get Coh it will not disappoint the sweet sound of a tank rolling in then BOOM a shell flying if u freeze it u can see the shell the tank shot :D it's great make sure u turn the sound up LOUDXxSPAZxX
Step 1: Lay off the crack
Step 2: Realize that there are two games that use the acronym CoH (and, when paired with CoV, does not refer to the World War 2 one)Â
Step 3: Read the thread first before posting (you'll notice that the TC has already made his/her choice)
This has been your friendly service announcement.
Thanks everyone for your help, I was about to go buy the two pack containing both of the games for 39.99$ when I saw City of Villains for $9.99, and bought that instead. I still do plan on buying Heroes, but for right now I'm just going play CoV, thanks again.Grease_Bits
Good move! I played CoV trial and the game seems close enough to CoH, it didnt seem worthwhile to have both. They may have changed that a bit but for me it was the same missions just different text and costumes.
Both games have a pretty good community, and it is easy to get groups especially with the sidekick option. Have fun!

I totally agree, the sidekick/Malefactor thing is an awesome idea for MMOs. I think more companies should adopt it. It's nice to not have to necessarily keep up with my brother and be able to team up with him.
