What's a good heatsink that you would recommend for the CPU? I hear that Tuniq Tower, Freezer Pro 7, are all great choices but what do you think? Keep in mind, money isnt a factor. Thanks in advance.

The freezer pro is a much better deal for the price but since money isn't a concern then just get the tuniq.

Go liquid if cost isn't an issue. There are some good no-maintenance liquid kits out there that are very effective.

If you're set on air cooling, though, go with the Tuniq Tower.

No-maintenance Liquid kits.... Hmm. That sounds more up my alley. Well, you got me interested although I try to avoid the liquid cooling method as much as possible. If you say there's no-maintenance then I'm up for the idea. Which ones would you recommend? I guess the best value deal would be good since a liquid cooling kit would beat any heatsink anyways. Thanks in advance.

Well, we're supposed to be offering an ibuypower brand no-maintenance liquid cooler (iBuyPower IBP-Z001... I use it on all my overclocked systems--so i KNOW it's good :P)... but I don't know where you could get it. The Asetek LCLC is pretty comparable, too. It's a (very) slightly more difficult install because the radiator is more bulky. Another one you could try is the CoolerMaster Aquagate... S1 i think... but when I tested it, it was a real pain to install and it was pretty shoddy all around.

I just use the stock Heatsinks. It all depends on the case and airflow directions. My X2 6000 idles 30C and maxes 48C and thats verygood for my cpu type.

Freezer 7 is good on a budget, but the Akasa 965 is better! It outcools the Freezer 7 and has a slightly larger fan, meaning that it can run slower and therefore quieter.

I have the freezer 64 pro with my Athlon 5600+ because my stock cooler was causing my CPU to overheat

Chill-tec is a waste of money, lol. It might cool slightly better than the basic no-maintenance water cooling kits (I'm talking maybe 1 or 2 degrees in my tests) but costs like $50+ more. You have to remember, though, that the Chilltec blows hot air within the case while a no-maintenance water cooler typically blows the radiator heat directly out the rear 120mm fan port--my tests were done in open air. I'd actually expect the chilltec not to perform as well within a case (Peltier is really inefficient and generates additional heat within your system)

Plus it comes with a completely worthless control box that fits in a 5 1/4" drive bay and has completely unrealistic temps (says my OCed Qx9770 4.4ghz runs at 27 celcius, rofl), and an animation of a man digging. Yes, a man digging. What a digging man has to do with cooling is beyond me, but not once have I seen him stop digging or dig any faster. It has a lot of pretty colored backlights, though. So if you like pink, purple, blue, turquoise, or green, I guess that's a plus.

The best you can get that might evan outperform water is this new magneticly cooled heatsink with a 120mm delta fan attached but i'm not sure where you can get one so i'ldgo for the Thermalright Ultra Extreme 120mm. It out performs the tuniq and you can choose a fan of you're own choice, you don't end up with all those tubes to manage either like water cooling.
