I've got an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000 Brisbane Processor and a Gigabyte GA-M61P-S3 Motherboard and was overclocking my cpu just to hold me off from getting a new processor. I reached ~2.55GHz from the original ~2.1GHz and am pretty happy with that but i see in the customer reviews on newegg that people were reaching 2.8GHz. If i try to go any higher my system becomes unstable. My question is, is my motherboard holding me back from reaching these speeds or what can be the issue? *Note* Im new to OCing and i haven't touched the voltage going to the cpu, im just looking for info or tips.

a)heat

b)your HTT speed may be too high for the mobo, some capped out around 300

c)your memory is not up to the task

d)voltages

e)you may need to look into dividers.

Voltages increase stability, but they increase temps. It's all experimentation.
