Dude, CPU's are ALWAYS dropping in price.Yura_Narsole
I've had a E6750 in my shopping cart on newegg.com for the past month or so. It underwent 3 price drops. from 212 to 205, then from 205 to 200, and now its at 195. Its undergoing a slow but steady price drop from what I have seen.
I doubt there will be a large price drop though.

At least until they cease manufacturing them, in which case they can sometimes jump up in price.
Hmm...I hadn't thought of that. Well then, ifsomeone were smart, they would buy a whole bunch of CPU's, wait for them to phase out in about a year, then resell them for a profit. You could make a fortune!
Absolute genius!

Assuming you can find a buyer for a bunch of old, outdated processors.

Hey, I know a place where a lot of older people go to buy older parts to keep their outdated pcs going!
You could make more money by targeting new parts at uneducated people. My grandpa bought a X2 3800+ for $217! I don't know if it was ever that much on newegg, but at the time he bought it, it was $115 on newegg.

...are you suggesting swindling senior citizens into buying outdated components for too much money? You're sick.[QUOTE="jed-at-war"]You could make more money by targeting new parts at uneducated people.kodex1717Or you could target old parts at uneducated people, just like Best Buy.
***Winner***
I saw 512MB of DDR 667 desktop RAM for $100 at Best Buy.

...are you suggesting swindling senior citizens into buying outdated components for too much money? You're sick.Well, someone could, but I was just kidding while mentioning how gullible some buyers are at the same time. I personally would never do that.
I would charge someone $200 for me to pick out the parts and build them a computer, but that would be a deal compared to Dell or other overpriced pre-builts.
At that same place that I was telling you about, there was this guy that tried to sell me a mobo with only a AGPx8 slot for video. He "assured" me that it was the new faster standard. That was early this year!
