We've seen the progression of video cards but I don't recall seeing one for CPU's. I'm going to start.

pentium 4--> 2.66ghz with HT, which was another piece of turd but I paid top $$ for it and it still works fine :D

athlon II x3 435-->great cpu but not good enough at what I bought it for, Starcraft 2, so sold it

core i5 750--> great cpu, finally something good from intel in my experience

phenom II x2 555 BE --> replace the athlon II in my AMD build, great cpu, unlocks to a triple core and also goes to 4ghz easy :D

I don't think there was an Athlon 64 X2 5400+ on Socket 939. The highest model for 939 was the FX-60, which was a 2.6ghz toledo core x2. The 5400+ was an AM2 chip.
