This is normal, if your motherboard temperature hits 70C then you have a problem. Intel CPU's tend to run around 40C but if it hits 50C then you might want to look into better coolant.

You've got nothing to worry about.

Have fun.

thats not that high.. dont worry about it. I use a Scythe ninja plus cooler on my c2d, and i still get 50+*C cpu temp and 70*C on the cores when stressed, and it's all stable.

My E6420 is always running at like 42-45 degrees on Idle :(. Gets to around 50 when under load..kinda scares me lol. Good thing I'm getting some more cooling for the whole case.

Its stock cooling. If I keep my side panel off my idles are 21-22C. Though, its only roughly 600mhz push and the new e6xxx all have G0 stepping which helps a lot.

I wouldnt keep case side open since that way more dust can come in case, and increase temps.

Depends on the situation... if you live in a basement then I wouldn't recommend it either:P

Where are you all getting your temps from? My "CPU" temperature stays way lower (especially under load) than my individual core readings?

Which one do you think is more important? I think the actual core readings, but not sure.

HAHA, I'm not sure why that is, but I have same processor and a really good ZALMAN heatsink that I totally recommend. I idle at 19 C and my mobo idles at 31 C.

What are you using to get your temps? 19c is like 66f, how cold is the room you have your computer in?

What does PC Wizard (or whatever program you use) say the temps of your cores are?

Thats what I was thinking.

The first time I cranked up speedfan with my Q6600, it only took a split second to realize that 17c was not my idle temp. It was a nice thought though.

Download PC Wizard, a great little app for temps as well as other information. Cause while it is nice to know your idle temps, the load temps are what matter.
