Hey folks, I'm building a new rig, but doing it slowly - using mostly parts from my old computer, and replacing them as I go. I thought I'd solicit some feedback from you smart forum-goers.

I'm starting with ordering the following:

Mobo

CPU

Memory

I thought about doing this for a mobo, but bad reviews are making me wary.

I currently have a 7900GS for a GPU, so that will be my next upgrade, and I'll most likely pick up an 8800GTS.

I'm going to retain my sound card, hard drive (for now), optical drive and card reader for a while, so I won't bother you with those details.

I guess what I'm wondering is, are my choices solid, will they give me some good bang for the buck, and is it wise to go about this upgrade in the manner I've chosen? I figure it shouldn't be difficult to put together the mobo/cpu/memory and just replace my current setup, right? If so, I suppose I should know.

Thanks for your help.

Good combo. I have something very similar. I have the P5K vanilla with the Q6600 and Patriot Extreme PC8500. It is a good rig.
