As far as I've seen from experiences here and on other sites, there aren't any drivers from Creative for the X-Fi that work fine.

I thought they said their was some beta drivers/ program thing that would change the sound files into different ones, since vista stopped the support or whatever.

The only drivers for the X-Fi and Vista are beta drivers... But i've been using the 64-bit versions for my Elite Pro without a single issue. I haven't tried the Alchemy patch though.

Your talking about DRM stuff, it shouldn't be done right now, but plans to change things like Apple's file format for Itunes so that you can listen to them like they are regular MP3's, stuff like that is in development and planned.

I just thought I remembered something like lukozer said, the alchemy thing. It was supposed to change the sound files into different ones on games, then that way it was still able to have good quality sound from your sound card because the newly converted files were supported by the card/ vista or something.

All Alchemy does is convert game sound that used DirectSound to Open AL so that EAX effects can be used on Vista.
