Hello, You may have or may not have heard of the Games for windows cross platform play. It is where you can be on a pc and verse a person on an xbox 360. http://www.gamesforwindows.com...rm.aspx This is a great system that is greatly misused. How would it be if you could actually versed people on the xbox 360 on games that you would actually like to play? I sure would! So I guess it is a pc gamers job to get word out about this and to get big game companies to help endorse this and hopefully inplicate it into their games! So come on everybody, do your bit and help get word around about cross platform gaming and what it can do! Ask game development companies what they can do!

It won't work, for now at least.

For example, an FPS, PC players would have to limit themselves to 16 player servers, and face the console players with auto aim (disadvantage for both types of players). TPS are the same, RTS (if there will actually be a decent one that will work on consoles), etc.

RPGs could work, but anyway, it's a system that can't be implemented at this point and if it will there will be lots of problems with it, since nobody wants to make compromises when it's about their way of having fun, being entertained.

so long as the auto aim for console users isnt too ridiculous like shadow run it should be good to own console players with mouse and keyboard superiority.

I keep hearing how great controllers are. I think that they should have to go without auto aim completely to show people just how inferior the controllers are to mouse and keyboard on a FPS.

OKay why does everyone bring fps, rpgs when it comes to cross platform?... Seriously this feature needs to be taken advantage of. for games like sf4, racing games (Grid). Action adventure games and co op games and basic rpgs. I really want cross platform for just about any racing game and fighting game. im going to get sf4 on the pc but doubt many pc gamers are so it would nice to play with 360 users and that goes for racing games also. COME ON MICRSOFT DO SOMETHING GOOD FOR ONCE!.

The only thing that I don't like about GFW - Live is the cross platform feature. Like someone posted above, 360 users have auto-aim for FPS's. A little unfair, IMO.

Because RPGs are kinda like the only genre for which this feature could be decent. Racing games would work but there aren't many good console ports that actually get supported for PC, GRID DLC PC or even the patch they promissed almost half a year ago? nope, so most will not play it after a while but if you have friends on Xbox/PC then it could be a good feature as for SF 4, give up, you don't know what you're up against ;), all console players say what they want but when it comes to combos, any combo that doesn't need a 360 direction turn is way faster on a keyboard and on PC there will be lots of players that want to show how cool they are compared to Xbox players so they'll make macros, they are like cheats, especially for a fighting game, all you'd have to do is press one button and voila you have your 5+ button combo at the press of one key.

Well, If if you get the message out there of what you would like from the GFW - live, then they will listen and hopefully promote it further. So if you have any links to companies, maybe suggest it to them to incorporate it into their games!

How was the SmartLink add-on ridiculous? I mean, that was available to both console users and PC users. Of course, using it made it much more difficult to set up ambushes as the laser sights would immediately reveal your position. Additionally, SmartLink was more along the lines of sticky-targetting instead of auto-aim. Personally, I thought Shadowrun was pretty fun, all things considered.
