Well, I'm told my PC is similar or even inferior in performance compared to the 360 - I run the game at mostly high @ 1280x800. It won't be Crysis running at GDC, but it will probably be really impressive IMOgotcha455
well call those people liars, because your PC is better than a 360.
Interesting since Crytek formerly said the engine couldn't run on any of the current consoles. I'm curious how it will run and, if it runs well, I'll be very impressed.YourOldFriend
They said Crysis in its PC state wouldn't run on consoles. But I thought we already knew that Crytek was looking to port the engine onto consoles.

i think they only said that crysis couldnt run on a console without some compromises....they never mentioned the engine.
itll be interesting to see how it turns out though. crytek have some of the best ppl in the business when it comes to tech, if anyone can push the 360 and PS3 to the limit, its them. at the mo im expecint that the games will look similar to crysis and physics and AI will also be very close, but the levels will be smaller so that they can fit in ram. the CPUs and GPUs are certainly up to the job, its only the ram thats causing major problems in temrs of getting very big levels like in crysis on consoles.
i wouldnt read too much into this yet though. ageia and havock physics engines can run on the wii and its heavily rumoured that UE3 is being ported over. theres also a version of gamebiro (oblivions engine) available for wii. it doesent mean that wii will be pumping out UT3 or oblivion levels of graphics (though it will be interesting to see what it can do).
Its the engine... it will not be Crysis. Even if it is "Crysis" it won't be anything like the PC version.foxhound_fox
Exactly. What we will see will be a toned down version of the graphics you can see even in real-time Crysis gameplay. It won't come anywhere near the capacities of the engine (as even Crysis maxed out doesn't show off everything the engine has to offer).
