I don't know about you but it looks weaker than CryEngine 2 to me and it looks more like UE3 than a CryEngine.Check for yourselves on IGN.

Guys this does not belong in PC games discussion. CryEngine3 Is made exclusively for the PS3 and Xbox 360.looked exactly like Cryengine 2, why the 3?

CryENGINE 3 is the first development platform for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, MMO, DX9/DX10 that also is truly Next-Gen-Ready - with scalable computation and graphics for all major upcoming platforms.
That means PC:P
Looks marvelous, geometry, physics, particle effects, textures and lighting were fantastic. Certainly, Crysis on a PC machine looks superior, but I mean the tech demo build was great nevertheless. Eager to see CE3 on a higher buffer stream then a 480p buffer.
:? So...Why exactly does it look worse then CE 2.0? It should atleast have the same graphically ability + better performence.

1. You're wrong.
2. Who are you to tell us what to do?
Its meant to work on consoles so it is kinda impressive.

I'm not even so sure I'd agree with that statement after we've seen what Killzone 2 can do and some of the other amazing-looking games on consoles. What we're seeing in these videos is a less-good-looking version of CryENGINE 2, being targeted for consoles. I am not surprised at all that the scenes in this video could be put on consoles, because most of them don't look overly impressive or unfitting for 360/PS3.

well no because unlike CryEngine 2.0 this one has to run on an xbox360/ps3 so in other words they have to remove alot of stuff and then fill in the gaps.
Leave it on the consoles. Crytek have made it quite clear they don't care PC, thats why they never finished the trilogy sold it off to a 3rd party that came up with Warhead and then moved on to Consoles.

Warhead was made by Crytek Budapest, which is the second studio they opened. They now have 5 studios, one of which is most likely RTS-only (Crytek Black Sea).
EVERYONE STOP!!!
All they are demonstrating is that they have managed to scale,so that it will now work on consoles. They never said it would look better but if you just put Crysis (CE2) on an xbox at low settings it would have been unplayable.

Bud, anyone with an pint of Brain will know the PC version will look far superior.:? So...Why exactly does it look worse then CE 2.0? It should atleast have the same graphically ability + better performence.
Jamiemydearx3
Because, despite the marketing, CryEngine 3 is basically CryEngine 2 running into a 0,5 GB RAM systems.
Don't worry. Crysis is still the bes looking gama around 1,5 years later, and some mods look better than the original game. Next Crysis iteration to PC will look even better than Crysis/Warhead.

Quote me on this, CryEngine 3 on the current consoles will look inferior to a modest Gamer PC.[QUOTE="biltros"]

Bud, anyone with an pint of Brain will know the PC version will look far superior.Whether you're referring to consoles or PC, you're discussing the SAME ENGINE. The engines are NOT different according to each platform. As an example, the PC version of FarCry looked different than the XBOX version because they were two totally different engines. With CryENGINE3, however, this is not the case!
Regardless of how much we can scale the graphics, what we're seeing is what we're going to get; and what we've seen is essentially CryENGINE2 all over again, only now - as you can see by the video - they're trying to push towards consoles rather than developing an improved engine for PC's (like the leap from FarCry to Crysis).

So yeah, he was right, the PC version will look better. You can already tell from the video it doesn't look any better than version 2 of their engine.Bud, anyone with an pint of Brain will know the PC version will look far superior.[QUOTE="OoSuperMarioO"]

Please don't tell me or infact believe Cryengine 3 will look identical or superior on the consoles TODD?[QUOTE="Jamiemydearx3"]

OK so to sort this out a little bit because i'm getting confused with all these quotes. From my point of view this video does not show the quality i've been waiting from an upgraded engine.BUT this video shows the CryEngine 3 on CONSOLES.On the one hand i agree with SuperMario that the pc version will be superior,as is the case with most engines, but on ther other hand Todd's comment is right because we actually talk about the same engine. And even if you add the power of high-end pcs or future pcs to this engine i'm still not sure if it's going to look a lot better than CryEngine 2.I don't even think it will actually look better.I think they aim for better performance than image quality. But after Killzone 2 it might be a little late for this in the consoles' market.
So I'm not the only one who seeshow nice it looks,SrTVBR? That's good. It seems like a lot of people don't think it looks good but I think it is because they aren't watching the video it high res.
Also remember that some games look better on pc than consoles so maybe the pc versions of games that use this may look a heck of a lot better.
