The demo ran like crap on my dual 8800GTS 512 cards. I'm not expecting it to run much better on my dual GTX 280 cards, but I'll eventually give the game a try - even though I disliked the demo.
I keep crashing right after the 1C logo...( well not crashing to desktop per say but I get the " stopped responding" error) I also kept getting Invalid Argument errors while D/Ling the game...it said it d/led and installed ok...but now I'm not so sure.
its okay i regret even spending the time to download the game. horrible lag horrible gameplay horrible cutscenes just made me want to stab my eyes and was boring as hell how did it get an 8 on gamespot? the patch did help the gameplay lag but not by much
Hmm dang, says that you need a 460 to register etc. I plan on getting a 460 eventually since my 9800gtx video ram just went, but not for a few months or so until I'm out of this boiling house incase it happens again (plus I won't be buying an EVGA again since it's hard to trust now after one of their cards dying so soon) If anyone has a code they can spare if they have a card etc. already could you PM me one? Thanks

It's not the optimization, it's all the physics at work. every particle of ice is given individual particle physics. the water is given fluid dynamics, and isn't painted on.
I still think it was a bad move, when I was studying fluid dynamics it was hell, imagine putting those calculations in a game in real time. They should have just gone with painted-on water and maybe fifty or so particle animations it would have run the game better plus nobody's really going to notice.
