8.5 very good score ( 8.4 the users score)

Basically they praise graphics( special effects never seen before in a game , amazing textures and the best physics in an fps game)

Great sound, amazing atmosphere ( with the horror element to stick out ) and great story, and

On the downside is the relative high pc requirements ( still i can almost play it in full settings at 1440x900 without AA and the game is slow pcaed so 25fps i get on my 8800gt is more than enough ) and the bugs especially on ati cards ( ati is working though on a fix)

Hehe.. you're really pushing this one hard, huh? From what I've seen though, it's well worth it. I can't believe how little publicity this game is getting - it looks amazing.jimmyjammer69

If only I didn't have an ATI system...

I started playing this last night. I feel very close to dumping it from my system. The graphics are ok but feel dated (I understand it is a small production company). I will likely play a bit longer to see if it gets any better but it doesn't suprise me that this game hasn't gotten a lot of attention.

Lol it's funny how people like to say "ATI it's the best value for money" and PhysX it's useless and then get bad performance. It's common sense that most games are optimized for Nvidia and Cryostasis even uses PhysX.

I started playing this last night. I feel very close to dumping it from my system. The graphics are ok but feel dated (I understand it is a small production company). I will likely play a bit longer to see if it gets any better but it doesn't suprise me that this game hasn't gotten a lot of attention.

The problem is that PhysX aren't fully supported in the game like on that demo until the patch comes out and this will be when they release the american version of the game. And from what I've read on the official forum, you'll only be able to use PhysX on Vista, maybe the patch will change that... I already got the game but I haven't installed it yet.

Goddamnit the wait for this game is killing me! They said they'd release it on 27.2 in Europe but I haven't seen it in stores and I asked the clerk and he said he didn't even know the game existed. :cry:

Yip its a good game,i completed it id give it an 8/10.As for physx, please buy some popcorn to watch it crash and burn.It will never take off because developers will be losing alot of the market...it will become lonely,stagnant and die peacefully in the next two/three years.

I think it will be otherwise.

Opinions can be wrong sometimes,especially poorly backed up ones.Physx will NEVER take off,havock will still be the norm in years to come.

PhysX took off since 2005, many games use it because it's a lot cheaper than Havok. PhysX-only effects, that's another story. Remember that PhysX is incorporated in UE3, and like a billion games use that.

Maybe it's just me, but the screens at that link look a bit dated. I'm hoping the game has progressed in order to be getting such (generally) good comments, and certainly the physics engine is something screenshots don't do justice, so I might just check this game out. If I can find time... Thanks.

I just installed the game and you can actually use PhysX on XP:twisted: Graphics wise, textures are not obviously at Crysis level but the effects are simply amazing! I'm running it at all max settings with PhysX enabled but I turned off AA and AF to get higher min FPS.

I live in Finland... We always get games late, unless they're mainstream and/or console games. :evil: I really wanna play Cryostasis...

The game is pretty mediocre in terms of gameplay, but I would have to agree that the graphics are fantastic.DGFreak
