Hey- I hope this is the right forum for my question:

Just got Crysis 2 for the PC- updated fully to 1.9, and I'm running all the settings on the lowest setting, which is "High".

No matter what- the game crashes to desktop at every checkpoint.

I would like to know: Has ANYONE found a fix for this yet? I'd hate to have wasted money on what looks like so much fun!

My specs:

  • Windows XP 32bit
  • EVGA 780i SLI
  • EVGA Nvidia 8800 GT (factory clocked, didn't touch the settings)
  • Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (3ghz) (did NOT overclock)
  • 4ghz OCZ ram (which I've tested and checks out fine.)

According to my tests, and what I've read from others online, it truly is a question of the game not working, not my rig.

Any help would be GRATEFULLY appreciated! And if you've got this problem too, I feel your pain...

Not sure what the problem is on your side. But, the game seems fine on my side. I have the retail disc version. I finished the game without so much as a freeze or crash. Crysis 2 works fine in DX11 as well. But, my PC is sluggish with it at the highest settings.

Not the same problem, but with the first Crysis there was an issue I later found out with saving settings and AVG virus scanner. Maybe your antivirus is trying to protect your computer from the game trying to access your hard drive. It might not be the problem, but it reminded me of the issue I had with the first game.
