I hate to play the devils advocate but i disagree that Crysis is poorly optimized.

I've always considered it to be one of the most well-optimized games in history. Especially considering the level of technical achievement.

The amount of coding and "stuff" going on, in the background while your playing that game, is immense.

This is coming from a person that was able to play it on high - smooth - from day 1 though. Not a radically powerful system either. Dual Core, 88800gts. You can't expect CryEngine 2 to run like the Source engine. It wasn't designed to run on every rig. Saying it's poorly optimized seems a bit unfair to Crytek imo.

I think Crytek did an amazing job with that game and it's a shame that the second game probably won't push the boundaries like the first one did.

And i'm going to miss the island setting too :P

The game is very GPU-limited, which is to be expected considering it's the prettiest video game right now.

How can you people say it is poorly optimized? You could only say that if there was a game with better graphics that runs better than crysis, most people still say crysis is graphics king since 2007, so saying it is poorly optimized has no basis.
