I loved Crysis. In fact, I loved it SO much, I think it's my second fav. game ever. Behind Halo CE. As so as I finished, I thought of how sick a sequel would be.

Here are my thoughts.

Urban environments. First thing I knew was that there had to be at least one part in a big, GTA style city, even if smaller. And destructible.

Interesting characters who live. Jester > Prophet. But Jester died. Have some sick characters. (Like Strickland :D)

Lots of enemy kinds. Now it's all aliens, have some humanoid ones who behave like humans, and a bunch other armored ones.

DON'T HAVE A cliffhanger ending. The end.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Weapon attachments treated like modifications rather than accessories. There should be a time and place where I should attach a silencer and where I should NOT attach a silencer to my weapon. Within the current Crysis/Crysis Warhead builds, attachments like silencers, laser attachments and grenade launchers are treated like "accessories" because their advantages within combat far outweigh their disadvantages. For example, why should I NOT use a silencer? The penalty for using a silencer on a weapon is slightly-decreased damage (10% I believe), but seriously, does this even do anything? I'm shooting an assault rifle that can kill another player in under ten bullets--using a silencer will, at most, only require me to shoot one extra bullet in order to kill another player. Considering the fact that I am also now undetectable on radar and a lot harder to hear, there truly is no cons with using a silencer. Why not just super glue it to all your guns then? This applies for attachments like the laser, grenade launcher and reflex sight.

Don't isolate DX9 and DX10 features within multiplayer (or possible DX11 features). Complex physics within multiplayer would have made Crysis a whole lot more fun and interesting to play, where-as the current build simply feels static and lifeless due to a lack of physics that are accessible within the single player. Crytek's excuse was that players running on "DX9-only systems" would be hindered by the use of breakable houses, trees, boxes, etc. Guess what? Crysis runs better on DX9 than DX10, and all the DX10 implementations were shallow and pointless, and could've easily been done on a DX9-only build requiring less performance. Isolating the multiplayer community between those who use Windows XP and Windows Vista was an incredibly stupid move, as the community has chosen to stick with the servers that are more popular with the larger crowd (the DX9 users) and now everybody plays on DX9 servers and nobody plays on DX10 servers. Don't make the same mistake again, Crytek.

Actually put some effort into balancing weapons/vehicles in multiplayer... Seriously. Any sort of fun I may ever get out of multiplayer is swiftly ruined by a VTOL, a cloaked FGL-40 user, a camping MOAC user, whatever. There are so many broken weapons, vehicles, items, etc. within Crysis that it's simply fustrating to play at times. Weapons and vehicles like the SCAR, SMG, FGL-40, MOAC, C4, Claymores, Anti-Air Artillery, Helicopters and VTOLs are all fustratingly overpowered while weapons and vehicles like the Shotgun, Minigun, Gauss Tank (Why was this even nerfed in the first place? It was perfect in the original Crysis) and Heavy Gauss Vehicle are underpowered.

Last, fix many of the bugs that currently plagues these games. Bugs ranging from the mildly-amusing flying frogs to the irritating "Server Authentication Failed" bugs, they all need to go. Any of these bugs remaining within the second game is simply inexcusable.

You KNOW there's going to be a cliffhanger ending.

I'd like to see more destructable enviroments. Rocks chip off or the ground deformation. I'd prefer better physics over improved graphics. I also would like to see a less linear style game. They say it's sandbox, but it's really just "go to the objective." I want more exploration, secret spots with nice weapons and such.

actually I'd rather keep it in the jungle, not go urban. It just looks too good. Anyways, more humanoid aliens, better story, etc. etc.

A decent story instead of one that makes Michael Bay look like a Harvard Graduate. Some humour wouldn't go astray: I got a bit tired of all that macho gun ho bs.

Fix the AI: make them more aware of their environments. If I blow up a truck outside the base, I want people running around like crazy. I want to be able to cause more diversions. But also tweak them so that they can't see you when you're at the bottom of the ocean!

Give the mission objectives a bit more thought and depth. I thought that they were too simple. Grab a document, hack the computer. Even if you put a mini game into hacking the computer or something.

Fire the guy who voices Nomad: He was awful lol. And people tell me Far Cry's dialogue is worse. Good Lord.

Even more freedom: It annoyed me how you would stealth your way through to an objective only to find that because of the scripted nature of the game that you now had to blow up a tank or something. Maybe I'm being a bit too precious here, but I'd like a bit more balance.

Polish, Polish, polish! The next game needs to be as polished as HL2 and then some. There was nothing more frustrating than finding out the menus had stuffed up or the final boss was clipping in and out of the game world.

nr 2, if there ever is one, wont be PC exclusive. That means much less of a game then what it could have been if it was. so sad.

:) not at all my friend. it just so happen to be the case that the PC will allways have more tecnological power then consoles, so by consequence a Crysis 2 will not be able to take advantage of the PC's superior hardware in the same grade as the first one, simply because it has to be made to work on whatever console platform there is at that particular time. the developers of a game can only do so much to make their game as good as possible. they has to release the game as well, not only constantly continue to develop it.

Mmm fair enough. I thought you meant more in terms of the mechanics rather than the technology. I can't even imagine Crysis going to console because of the sheer scale of it and yet Crytek don't believe in PC Exclusives anymore because of piracey. Having said that, there is nothing to suggest that - technology aside - Crysis 2 can't be a great game in terms of its gameplay mechanics because it is a multi-platform surely.

Im honestly still blown away by Crysis and Crysis Warhead everytime i play them both.

I just want a new Crysis, i dont care wahts changed or differnt!

Only thing i thought could have been better in Crysis 1 was the story and online!

While Warhead had much better online, the story still could have been better.

Overall Crysis is near FPS perfection imo.

Also some variety in enemy characters would be nice.

Other then that keep the gameplay, pressentation and everything else the same!

Just better story! some graphical improvements (if possible) and maybe a little longer in length!

Next time actually read what Crytek said >_>, a console version will not affect the evolution of the game on PC, if there will ever be a Crysis version for consoles (probably will never happen, a new game maybe).

Erm the dx10 version is alot different to the dx9 version graphically? It looks rather lifeless in the dx9 version, alot of the effects are missin in the dx9 version (probably because it was developed for dx10). There are a number of reasons I think it runs better with dx9:

1. It's not using the full graphical power of the game.

2. that this was the first game to be developed for dx10, while dx9 has been around for quite a while now, it kind of makes sence that they can use optimize and code to it's full potential.

So I hope they reamp the engine, now they had a bit more experiance with dx10 I hope they can get it looking even better, without needing the top end hardware to run it.

Chances are most people who complain about new software/features, that they perform worse on the "same hardware" will never understand that new technology needs new means through which you can achieve actual stable performance.

I wonder when will an Einstein be born, one that would complain how awkward DX 10 is compared to DX 8.

Leave him be, there are a lot of people that think that way and they will never understand. Once they get better hardware they will say something like "yes but now it works better and it looks so good because they patched and refined it".

Oh and Jiggles there never were DX 10 servers in the first place, which sucks completely on maps that would be a lot of fun with destructible vegetation and different objects.

what I would add to crysis2? more desert.. and postapocalyptic story.. maybe about lost waterchip or something.. also, some futuristic energo guns and supermutants would be cool.. also the nanosuits should be renamed to power armors... and people could live in some underground bunkers... could be good game then..

Haha, why a knife when you've got your own hands? Haha. Well, I want a better A.I , with more realistic reactions to my actions, no aliens, a better story ( something like a war against underdeveloped countries, that could be won only with the nano suit guys, it would be crazy, many enemies).

I personally didn't like Crysis. It was a run of the mill shooter coated in sugar. Yes, i can run it too. (Alienware) What i disliked the most were the nanosuit functions, since they were pretty much useless. I kept it to maximum armor 98% of the time. The other abilities left you vulnerable to gunfire and ran out to quickly. Read my Crysis review if you like.

I believe Crytek said that Crysis was going to remain a PC exclusive series but that they are working on a new multiplatform game too. I'll need to look it up again though.

Like some others say, I'd like the armor mode to be more usefull,
i'm most often on the shield mode. Would be good if there was some boss dude you need to use strenght or invisibility in order to kill them.

I'd like some new environment also.

Keep the rest really good formula
