Imo no. At least right now. Maybe after a stability patch.

Crysis 2 is all about single-player. multi-player isn't that great, but it is somewhat fun. If you want to buy it just for the multiplayer, don't.

Very high 1080p 60 frames, or Extreme 1080p 35-40 frames.

Yes, it is.. If you can adapt "well" to the Nanosuit powers, then it's alot of fun in many ways. If you're just gonna play like in COD style, you might get owned against just decent players. The game is about understanding how the Nanosuit works, using it better than your opponents do online (that doesn't include "cloaking & camping in 1 spot to pick your target that people did so much in the Demo) & being creative. It's alot of fun in many ways but I can't say if you really are gonna enjoy it as well as it simply depends on how you play it.

I didn't like the MP demo.

Now I bought the game and can't even play the MP.

- a lot of dedicated servers don't work. You should be able to vote for a map and there should be a countdown timer, but many don't have these features and won't load a new map.

- whenever I'm able to join a game, I'm disconnected when a new map is loaded or right in the middle of the game. I can't play more than two minutes :(

- and to top it all, a multiplayer crack was released and pirates can play the game online.

I bought it at half price and still feel ripped off :/

Can anyone explain in some detail as to why the multiplayer is not good? I guess there are some people who are having technical problems preventing them from playing the multiplayer, but what about the people who can?

It is not that the multiplayer is not good, it is quite fun, it is just nothing new and nowhere near worth $60. Single player makes up 80% of the value of Crysis 2, so buying it just for multiplayer is not worth it in my opinion.

The nanosuit abilities sound pretty different compared to most multiplayer shooters. That's nothing new?

Why is it not worth $60? Come on, people. Really tell us what is wrong with the multiplayer. Maybe compare it to a game that has popular multiplayer.

Nothing is wrong with it. If you enjoy online FPSers you will love Crysis 2. The issues are all stability. It's actually one of the most balanced games I've played at launch. Nothing feels OP. People may complain about stealth, but I never use it and I have a 1.8 KDR and dominate most matches.

that is only a small part of the multiplayer, and whether it is for better or for worse is really a matter of opinion. The game feels like CoD with a tacked on nano suite and much better balanced.

The demo was pretty fun but it was like a CoD paste and copy except for the nanosuit features. Yes op your PC will run it great at 1080P with Hardcore settings.

It's exactly like playing COD with a nanosuit. If you've played MW, MW2, WAW, or Blops then you've played Crysis 2 multiplayer. Hell, even the single player copies MW2 pretty heavily in a few ways. No, the game is not worth a buy. If you want it just for the multiplayer then go back to playing COD and save yourself $60. If you want to play the single player then know that it's a substantial step down from Crysis and Warhead in terms of both graphics and gameplay. I wouldn't suggest anyone buy this until it hits the $20 mark.

I feel the singleplayer gameplay is a step up from Crysis/warhead. Not only is it more fluid, the environments are more varied and have a lot of detail. The game is simply more fun to play than Crysis or Warhead ever were.

The environments are not more varied. In Crysis you were fighting on beaches, in rice fields, dense jungles, caves, massive plains, mountain sides, villages, an alien ship, and snow covered versions of many of those same types of areas. In Crysis 2 you've got a city, more city, and even more city.

There is also not more detail in Crysis 2. Rather than go through a list I'll just point out the textures as a case-in-point:

Crysis 1

Crysis 2:

The only thing I'll give you is that Crysis 2's action is more fluid, but that's mostly because the game focuses a lot more on scripted action scene after scripted action scene rather than the completely free form, methodical action you had in Crysis.

From the few hours I've spent with this, I think you should wait until the game drops in price. That way its problems are ironed out and you'll save a bit of cash. While the current state of the multiplayer is far better than it was on launch day, there are still many bugged servers and it is subpar in many areas. The netcode is particularly iffy. There's also not very much to unlock. Crytek really managed to stretch a small inventory to a somewhat lengthy unlock system. Don't expect to unlock anything particularly useful or cool (like new weapons) often. I think you can count the all the weapons in this game on two hands, but don't hold me to it.

by detail I don't mean textures. I mean things such as mail boxes, sign, and other details in the maps. This is due to the urban setting. Also, you have obviously not played Crysis 2 if you think you are only in the city streets....

If the multiplayer is similar to Call of Duty, then the game at least lives up to the competition, even if it brings little to the table. Didn't most people buy Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops for the multiplayer? I hear there are stability issues. If they patch those problems up, I see the game being worth the multiplayer, based on all your descriptions.

Ive actually found the multiplayer somewhat fun, i dont like pro mode it just encourages camping. That being said multiplayer the differing modes are fun but too short, like 5 minutes games. Also some of the maps are way too small, resulting in bad spawns. Camping cloaked is the most annoying play style adopted. I think it is worth it for just mutiplayer if you are able to get it cheap, not worth it for 60 dollars.

I have the idea of having stealth in the multipayer. It just encourages camping and cheap tactics. I will only play classic from now on.

I quite enjoy the multiplayer. The nano suit definitely makes things slightly different and more enjoyable than other FPS. However, from a pure gameplay perspective, it is very much alike MW2. But, managing different suit modes, a more vertical playstyle and perks being more defining makes this better than other games.

Also, as I'm not personally much of a fan of Killstreaks, I was glad to see that they are not customizable; there are specific ones for each map.
As some have pointed out already, the multiplayer component is quite buggy at the moment. It needs some work from Crytek before this is stable enough to be a fluid experience.

The game overall is worth the money. Where does this idea of "is the game worth buying for multiplayer". Don't understand that logic, are you thinking of downloading it? The multiplayer is buggy at the moment but it's good.

It will run fine on hardcore (high) on your PC. But like other Crytek games, it's primarily a single player game. The multiplayer is nothing special.
