still not completely sure on it, but the smart AI sounds good and the level design seems pretty nice.
I immediately notice how much longer the cloak ability now lasts.Article

I'm not even comparing Crysis 3 to the other Crysis games anymore. I'm now going to compare it to Far Cry 3.

Hopefully Crysis 3's story isn't as bad as Far Cry 3's. And please, for the love of god, no QTEs. The boss "fights" in FC3 weren't even fights at all but just QTE FTW.[QUOTE="jun_aka_pekto"]

really, really hope he doesn't mean in comparison to Crysis 2. /;
but he might be comparing it to just Crysis/Warhead in that as well as a few other lines, because he makes reference to suit abilities having their own buttons now, like it wasn't already like that with Crysis 2's potato bag-suit.Toxic-Seahorse

The boss "fights" in FC3 weren't even fights at all but just QTE FTW.That depends on which is a real Boss fight. The only one I think that was a real Boss fight so far was the giant masked thing. That didn't have too many QTEs until the end of the fight. The others "Boss" fights prior were merely to get them out of the way.
The stories on all the Crysis games were pretty hokey as well. That didn't stop me from liking the games. It's the same with Far Cry 3. The exploration part alone made the game worthwhile for me. I refused to buy a map up to this point because I like searching for interesting stuff on my own.
Looks decent I guess (2nd wonder), they were all good, but I'm shocked, that after 3 games, they still can't create satisfying gun feedback (visual and audio), the most tedious part in Crysis as a series for me was the shooting, it simply is a chore, explosions are great and weapons that cause them, but anything with bullets is absolutely terrible, don't get why it's so hard to make such a basic thing that is the foundation for the genre of the game you try to create.
just going to leave this here: 7 Wonders of Crysis 3 - Part 2darksusperiaDAT FOLIAGE.... Which will probably render my PC into a pile of ash and tears. Not gonna bother with the game till there's hardware capable of running it at 2560x1440 with minimum 60fps.
Had the same feel too in terms of gunplay / suit abilities during the MP Alpha.I think too much of the game looks like Crysis 2.

Why? Hotkeys are way better.
Yeah, I agree, the hot keys made the gameplay more fluid IMO.You could use hot keys in Crysis 1 too. The whole problem i had with Crysis 2s suit functionality is that it was a constant reminder to me that i was playing a dumbed down console game. In armor mode you are pretty much invincible and the whole scheme felt like it was made just to suit a console gamepad, which im pretty sure it actually was.
It's not just the hot keys, it was combination of the suit functionality. It made sense to have armor mode on by default and combine speed and jumping (although I would have liked to have been able to move faster) and have cloak (well cloak was the same as the original). It just made the gameplay more fluid to be able to have speed and power combined so that you could run and jump and grab onto ledges and move quickly. I even liked the sliding mechan
Edit: oops, my bad armor mode was not on by default. They conly combined power and speed, which I thought was great call.

Yeah I'm probably one of the few that thinks the changes to the suit made in Crysis 2 were for the best, except for the lack of speed. I can see why they removed this and just tied it with the sprint function (for many reasons), but it's something I miss.
As long as it is better than Crysis 2 and has better AI. I was really disappointed with the story, campaign overall, the amount of glitches, and lag in multiplayer.

People just don't like change. :PHopefully Crysis 3's story isn't as bad as Far Cry 3's. And please, for the love of god, no QTEs. The boss "fights" in FC3 weren't even fights at all but just QTE FTW.[QUOTE="Toxic-Seahorse"]

I agree. The gameplay in Far Cry 3 was top notch and I still have fun exploring the world. The story however is awful, worse than Crysis 1 and 2 because both major enemies in FC3 you don't actually fight, you just QTE your way to victory. There is no sense of accomplishment.[QUOTE="jun_aka_pekto"]

They should have done boss fights like Deus Ex: Human Revolution. And I want to expect to die at least 3-5 times before I say: "Woo yeah! Finally kicked his a**!" :PGame looks fantastic, and I hope my superclocked GTX 570 can handle it reasonably, so far I'm very happy with it.

Yeah, I'm worried how 3 will run on my PC at all. I can't even max the first one on my PC - and it came out 5 years ago.
Regardless, it looks beautiful and the bow looks pretty sweet!

It totally was. I really disliked the suit controls in C2, until the first time I tried plugging it into the TV and playing with a 360 controller. That just felt right. Still prefer the mouse just for the precision, but yeah. The controls were designed from the ground up to be played with a gamepad.
And what I actually hated more about the suit in C2 wasn't the hotkeys, or lack of the wheel (although I really loved that mechanic in Crysis). It was the way that they combined speed and strength into one "power" option. And the armor mode, which should have just been called "tank mode". With crysis 2, your super speed isn't even very fast, and if you don't have power, you can't even go faster than a walk. In crysis 1, you have normal and sprinting speeds, then you can put on "speed" mode, which doesn't drain power all by itself, and makes everything go faster, plus, when in "speed" mode, sprinting (which does drain power) would give you that insanely fast dash, which was awesome. And then the armor. C2 armor mode makes you go stupid slow, and makes you invincible until you run out of power, and drains power even when you're not being hit. Hence, "tank mode". In C1, armor mode was pretty much default. Didn't drain power unless you were being hit, and you would still lose health while being hit, just not as much as if you were out of power, or on another mode. That annoyed the hell out of me.
no kidding. My 570's are going to weep. The VRAM on them may have a bad effect on max settings. Well, you're not blind, I'm blind. Eh, when I built it I knew I wasn't going to max everything, but it'll be interesting to see how demanding Crysis 3 will be in 2013 compared to how demanding Crysis 1 was in 2007.
