Half Life 2 Blew me away when i first played it.

Crysis knocked me off my feet when i first played it, and continues to do so, for this reason i choose Crysis.

Arma 2 was a joke. Looked and felt like a mod, can't believe you can call it a game.

Half life 2 blew me away till i reached black mesa east, then its slowly started to lose its Half life 1 touch and it turned into a physics game that you had to grab stuff and throw them isntead of shooting like the commandos and the big aliens in half life 1, i was really dissapointed at that point!! I wanted it to be more of a fps with more challenging fights and bigger enemies plus better weapons!! Sadly that did not happen, i kept fighting combine soldiers with the same weapons but this time they were less scattered at the levels and more at quick respawning defending events!! I was waiting for more fps gameplay but instead it gave me turrets, hover mines and infinite rockets to take out those striders which where not as good as the tanks and choppers in half life!! So half the game was good and half was bad, no wonder its called half life ;) Crysis was nice, nice ideas nice unique gameplay, nice cinematic story. But in comparison with far cry, i found the weapons and the gunplay kinda dissapointing, stil the tactics you could use with the nanosuit where fun when the ai decided to play along, anyway the maps could have been better!! Overall a pretty fun game but i dont see whats the amazing thing people talk about!! Arma 2 was both fun and both not fun. There are times you can have fun either with the compaign and times that you could encounter weird glitches and ai or laugh with the voiceacting, like you said it, it feels like a mod!! However there are times that you can create your missions and have fun, so overall it was nice to play when i was in the mood for it!! As for deus ex? Well it plays like an rpg game with more semi-stealth and hacking and fps as second. I was really immersed by that game and every time someones mention it to me, i reinstall it again!!! Now dowloading the nameless mod!!

It's a tough call between HL2 and Deus Ex. However, Deus Ex is more of an FPS/RPG/Stealth/Adventure hybrid than it is an FPS so I gave my vote to HL2.

As for Crysis, it's a good game but it has nothing on Deus Ex or HL2

I haven't played Arma 2 so I can't comment on it, but from what I've heard/seen it doesn't really look that interesting to me

Arma 2 is never going to be as popular as the other two because it is aimed at a niche market, though i think arma 2 will be the most enjoyable out of the two when the bugs are out of the way, seeing as it has a great mod community and great tactical gameplay. Half life 2 is a close second, that was one of the best games of the decade.

Crysis is my second favorite game of all time. Half-Life 2 isn't far behind. ARMA 2 seemed like a cool game that I'd like to own someday based on its demo, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't consider it one of my favorites. And I've never played Deus Ex yet.

So, Crysis.

Never played ARMA2.

But out of them easily Crysis for me its superiour to most of the games there due to the freedom of how you approach situations.

I dicluded Deus X frpm my choices tho its old and its and RPG / FPS really.

Tough poll. I thought all these games were a grade games. If it had to come down to it, I'd say Deus Ex, simply because it brought a new style of gameplay in the time, FPS with RPG elements with branching story and freedom to take out objectives differently. It was the foundation of a few games today. Crysis was all for graphics but gameplay was a bit lacking once the alien levels kicked in. Once that happened I felt like I was being pulled along a linear rollercoaster ride. A good one at that. Half Life 2 had an excellent story and dialogue. ARMA2 was great in that it went back to Deus Ex foundations of tackle the scenario any way you want.
In my order of games I would say Deus Ex first, then Half Life 2, ARMA2, and lastly Crysis.

1. Deus Ex (a masterpiece + it has RPG elements)

2. Half-Life 2 (a masterpiece)

3. Crysis (a good FPS, but it could have been a lot better gameplay wise - more things to do in the vast island)

4. ArmA II (too hard and complicated for me)

Crysis; not only because I like the single player campaign, but also modifications + funny cheats alone can make the game almost endless in terms of content. Plus, once I upgrade my GPU to a Fermi or the next high end Radeon card it will be like seeing the game for the first time all over again :D.

Yeah, its a shame people dont talk about it in these forums, quake 2 was a very good fps!!

Every game that gets a 9.5 nowadays when deus ex did not even made it to a 9.0, is overated if you ask me;)

Anyway i dont see what the fuzz is about, but i included those fps in the list, because those are the games that are discussed alot the last few months on this forum!!

I guess i should have added stalker, but the attention rate has been lowered. Maybe when call of pripiyat comes out, stalker will make a re-apearence on the threads of the pc forums ;)

Deus Ex > Half Life 2 > Crysis (Haven't played enough of ArmA 2) If only Crysis didn't have the underwhelming alien portions, I might have put it ahead of HL2.

Haven't played ARMA 2. Deus Ex is the best game ever made that you can categorize as a shooter. Crysis has a flawed sense of direction - especially storywise - but it does put forward a rather killer approach to first-person combat and it's easily the most fun of the three when it comes down to actual shooting. Half-Life 2 has a decent plot and excellent direction, but its gameplay isn't really impressive and for the most part, it's a well-produced high-quality game that's not much special otherwise.

Crysis first, purely for the graphics and just general great level design as well as the epic pacing of the game as you head towards, then away from the mountain. Then it would be Half Life 2, and then Arma, which I only tried the demo of and didn't like.

You have a point there but Deus Ex does have its flaws, and it wasn't exactly a great shooter, so I don't think its overrated. I think what makes it the best is what it stands for, and that virtually no other game achieved that 'new level' that DX aimed for. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTWvsGA77T4 This video talks about that 'fantasy' which Deus Ex created with the skills and augmentations, even though it was impractical. WIth IW, they got rid of the impracticalities, making it more streamlined, and actually better in terms of gameplay, but the 'fantasy factor' was no longer there when this sophistication was lost.

I do agree that deus ex has its flaws. For example when i showed to my friends for first time, they where like "Ah ok, now where is all the action?" :( You are doing it wrong, its not about action, its about story, rpg upgrade system and choices. But it really sucks if you play it as a normal fps, especially in the begining that you cant hit anything!!
